Velety smooth, malty, drinkability. Definitely one of my new favs; it's hard to imagine it gets any better than this.

Never thought I would rate a big Brewery beer in this high I usually only give ratings like this to local breweries this is an amazing beer and I paid 12 bucks for a 12 pack of bottles I'm all about smaller breweries local breweries and the very professional ones but I have to give credit where credit is due and this is amazing and it's also brewed under the German Purity law well done Cheers

Had on tap, fresh keg. Poured a clear medium brown with ruby hues. Half inch head that settled to a ring quickly and left ample lacing. Smell was rather mild with roasted malts and some yeast. Taste was rather bland with malt as the predominate flavor, additional floral notes, yeast, nuts and corn. Light bodied, well carbonated, watery mouth feel.

Poured from 330ml bottle into glass. Best by date on label is '03.AUG.18 07A30'. Label ABV of 4.8%.
Ruby brown colored body, clear. Off white head settles to cap and scattered islands. Some spots of lacing.
Aroma is dark roasted malt with whiff of cocoa.
Rich roasted malt taste, with fruity hops and cocoa. Dry flavor profile.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Not much carbonation. Very little bitterness. Short taste profile.
Smooth and rich as to beer style. Not a smoked beer, but in the same dark, rich vein. Complex for a lager.

I used to think German beers were tops. That was a while ago but I'm always looking to be impressed again.
So on a whim I bought this beer.
It's a german style dark lager. I think the mouthfeel is thin, lots of effervescence on the palat. Toasted malt comes through with a quick finish. This beer, in my opinion has a thin character and flavor-- even though it's a lager.
i wouldn't turn this one down but it would not take much influence to grab another beer from the shelf.
