On Tap at Pies and Pints Charleston, WV

This is an exceptional IPA. Smooth, great hop aroma and character, slightly sweet, easy to drink.

On tap 12oz Shaker pint

A: Murky golden yellow slightly better clarity as it warmed white small tight head that dissipated to film.

S: Peaches, grapefruit and tangerines with a lot of bready dough smell on the end

T: Great citrus taste not as vibrant as the nose but still quite good, with the orange tangerine taste very juicy in that regard. Decent maltiness on the end.

M: Middle of the road mouthfeel pretty decent carbonation slightly sticky on the tongue

O: Very good beer from a completely under heard of source. Had to keep asking the sever what the brewery was they kept saying Hatfield McCoy so it was hard to find in the database. Great surprise though very juicy citrus beer with a nice malty finish.

Very clear amber in color. Nice, thin white head. Smell is thick of hops. The taste is not nearly as hoppy as I expected after the smell. Little to no after taste or bitterness. Good stuff.

A solid American style IPA. Discovered this beer on tap at a local dive bar while on travel in West Virginia.

Very well balanced hoppy and citrus taste.

I would buy a case of this beer if only I could find it.

Can obtained in a trade and my first IPA from a WV brewery. Pours a nice orange color with a pleasant fruity aroma. The taste backs up the aroma - citrusy with mild bitterness. Finish is crisp and mildly bitter. Overall, a very pleasant surprise. I'd be happy to purchase a 6-pack if it ever becomes available in New England.

I should also mention that I thought the can design to be unusually attractive.

Several Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co. Brews along with other West Virginia beers at Kroger in Wheeling. This was a real surprise. Picked it up because I liked the artwork on the can. Truly an IPA that's comparable to many of the more highly renowned breweries. Beautiful balance of citrus hops and caramel malts with a dry finish. Lots of flavor including lemongrass, tangerine, pine resin and caramel. If you can find this beer...buy as much as you can if you love IPA'S.

Devil Anse IPA brewed by Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co, with an ABV of 6.90% This American IPA pours out a nice golden amber color with a nice white head. There is also a good amount of lacing, it sticks to the side of the glass well. The smell is rich with hop bitterness. There is also some nice earthly grains and malts, in the smell of this brew. Now for the taste, it is bold with hop bitterness. This American IPA has more of a bite than most, not saying that is a bad thing. You also pick up on some decent earthy grains and malts to smooth the hop bitterness out. There is a lot going on in Devil Anse IPA . If you are a fan of hops this is a brew for you. For being a Hoppy brew it goes down nice and smooth. It is really hard to pick up on the 6.90% ABV in this brew, it is just that smooth. Devil Anse IPA, has a dencet balance to it, hops are bit more but not to bad. The mouth feel is Hops, Clean, Smooth and Refreshing. Overall I'm giving this American IPA a 4.25 out of 5. I would look this brew up again givin the chance to. Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co, did a nice job with this American IPA.
Love them Hops

A = Cloudy yellow gold with a nice head and great lacing that lasts for a while after pouring.

S = Very nicely different than many IPA's, a modest but intriguing nose that gradually builds into a substantial whiff after 5-10 minutes. Grassy, slight laundry starch malts and floral hops, with a hint of sweetness.

T = Tastes similar to the nose, grassy and starchy malts and somewhat dry but with a scant touch of citrus and honey.

F = Feels a little astringent in the finish and leaves some dry bitters in the palate and throat.

O = Overall, this is a nice accomplishment and it's in cans, not wasteful bottles.
