Pours a solid black with a finger of foamy head that slowly settles to a thin cap with lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and cocoa. Taste follows nose. Very enjoyable.

Taster at brewery. Black pour, skin of head. Aroma is mild roast, hint of chocolate. Taste starts with a smidge of sweet before giving in to the roasty bitterness. Light chocolate notes throughout.

Blown away by this beer! Honestly might be the best black IPA I've tried to date. Had Alpha Force from Uber and Carlton from Melvin a few weeks ago and Antilogy was in my opinion a more pleasurable experience. Awesome hop aroma and flavor, very smooth body, and unlike so many Hoppy beers brewed in Bozeman absolutely no mouth coating astringent bitterness. Seek this out on tap! Batch I had was phenomenal.

Draft at the brewery and a big ole growler that was brought home and shared with the geekiest of geeks Boise has to offer... Pours very clear deeeep walnut brown with a foamy light khaki head.. Nose shows pithy citrus and melon hops.. surprisingly not much except some light cocoa that reminds me this is a "black" IPA... I dig it... Fruity and nice bitterness makes for a drinkable brew.. Very nice BIPA, I appreciate that it doesn't have a huge black malt/road tar presence like so many other examples... Great example of the style for sure.

Served on tap in a pint glass

Appearance – The beer is deep brown color with a one finger head of cream colored foam. The head has a very light level of retention, fading fast to leave a great level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The brew has a lightly toasted malt aroma with a decently strong showing of chocolate and a rather big showing of some pine hop smells. Along with these aromas comes some smells of grapefruit as well as a little bit of a caramel sweetness, which overall produce a rather mild but quite balanced black IPA aroma.

Taste – The taste begins with a decent showing of a pine hop and some roasted malt. There is also a lighter level of caramel and toffee upfront as well as some lighter chocolate flavors. The caramel and chocolate grow stronger as the taste advances with other hop flavors of grapefruit joining the taste profile as well. The pine gets stronger toward the end and is combined with the grapefruit hop as well as the sweeter and roasted flavors to leave a nicely roasted and bitter, but balanced darker IPA flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is on the averages side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. For the mix of sweetened dark and roasted flavors mixed with the hop flavors of the brew, the feel is rather nice.

Overall – A very nice black IPA overall with a good easy drinking feel and a good balance all while hiding well any of the 7.7 % abv. Rather enjoyable.

A really excellently crafted, tremendously balanced black IPA (at 7.7% and 77 IBU).

Antilogy presents a clean admixture of toffee-malt, booze, and light hopping, which floats out of the pint glass—though the sum total, while pleasant, doesn't smell particularly powerful. The color is noteworthy: much more dark brown than truly black, which is uncommon for so-called "black IPAs". The real key, though, is the beer's flavor, which exerts an expert congruity and even-handedness: neither too burnt nor too sweet, not too hoppy, and incredibly drinkable, with a perfect viscosity for this hybrid style.

The beer appears dark brown, almost black with a very thin bone-white head. Spicy pine and citrus aroma. Mild cocoa and roasted nut flavors with a zippy hop bitterness. Medium bodied and coarse on the tongue; dry finish.

A very solid black IPA. The hop zing is well done and nicely complements the mild dark grain flavors. Nails the style.

The brewery's selection board lists the IBU at 77.
