Very Good
Notes: A strong scotch ale with big rich malt flavors, reminiscent of dark caramel, fig jam and light smoke.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can. Picked up at the brewery just two days ago. Pouring the beer into my snifter.
the beer pours a rich clear mahogany color. Very dark color with no light passing through my glass after the pour.
A khaki colored dense, yet creamy looking head of less than .5 cm foams up and rests on the surface of my glass. This foam sticks around as a sturdy surface layer throughout sampling. It also leaves very dense clingy lattice on my glass after each sip and anytime I swirl the glass. Looks good.
Aroma is is toasted malt notes, caramel, some toffee and a bit of a peat note too. Some light fruitiness, and although confusing, I keep getting very mild cinnamon.
First sip reveals a silky smooth texture with medium body and very tiny and gentle carbonation. Easy drinking beer for something with a pretty big ABV. I would actually like a slightly bigger body on the beer, but it isnt flawed as it is, just something I could see enhancing the experience.
Flavor is rich and malty as the nose had advertised. I get toffee and caramel mixing with brown sugar and a bit of tobacco and some peat notes in the background and on the finish. There is also maybe a little dark chocolate on the finish. Maybe some earthy hop character on the finish as well, but overall this is a malt forward beer and carries the day on this beer. I dont get any booze even with the 10% ABV.
This is a dangerously drinkable big beer and hits the key points as a scotch ale. Glad I have another 3 cans of this tasty brew that is perfect for fall weather!

Got this as part of a flight and generally a style I stay away from. BUT this was very very nice and glad it was in the flight. I would buy it on its own.

10 oz. on draft at Arcadia in Portland. Served in a stenge-like thing.

Appearance: A clear ruby with no head. Deep, dark, ominous.

Aroma: Sweet candy, dark fruit. Booze. Booooooooze, to be more specific.

Taste: Dark fruits like plum and raisin along with sweet malt and sugar. Sweet. Boozy.

Mouthfeel: Sweet and boozy to the point of almost abrasive. A sipper.

Overall: A well executed sweet scotch ale. Not for the weak.

A dark amber brown color, light head that dissipates, some lacing on the glass. Nice malty nose with a great scotch/malt taste. Maybe the best offering from this brewery and that's saying quite a bit

Look - Aggressive pour yielded maximum head, which slowly receded nicely, leaving fragile delicate lacing. Dark brown / red color - kind of a "ruby" color but hinted on the dark side.

Smell - Sweet booze

Taste - Really sweet scotch ale

Feel - Very thick and solid, frigging mouthy

Overall - This is a solid scotch ale, over the top
