The colour is deep copper (35 EBC), the liquid is clear. The four finger head is amber and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.
The smell is malty with lots of caramel and dried fruits (apricots, red apples). Some English phenolic yeast flavours and a light bitterness.
The taste is dry and smooth. Malty notes of caramel and biscuits. Some unclean alcohol. Light bitterness and hoppy notes of hay and dried flowers. The aftertaste got some alcohol, biscuits and somewhat harsh bitterness. The finish is a bit harsh.
The carbonation is very strong, the many bubbles mid-sized and sharp. The liquid is smooth.
An OK bitter, if it hasn’t been for the sharp bubbles.
