The colour is deep brown (in bad light, it looks black), the liquid is clear. The two finger head is compact and beige, and it sinks to a thin lid leaving no lacing.
The mild smell got notes of cocoa/dark chocolate, toffee and a hint of unripe fruit.
The taste got notes of roasted, almost burned, malts (making it not far from a stout). Some toffee/caramel and mild herbal bitterness. Some dark chocolate and black malt sourness. Passing clean light bitterness. Medium to full body. The aftertaste got growing clean sweetness, kola nuts and some alcohol. The finish is a little harsh with herbs and tree sap.
The carbonation is mild, the many small bubbles smooth and short-lived. The liquid is smooth.
A very porter-like dark lager. Would probably pair well with the traditional fat-sweet-salty Swedish Christmas dishes.
