On tap at Bend Brewing Company in Bend, Oregon. Served in a tulip glass.

Pours a beautiful ruby red body, slight orange-copper hue, but for the most part medium ruby red. Half finger white head that dies fairly quickly, becomes a mildly placid beer after the fact. Smells of pomegranate, lactic acid, wheat, a bit of lemon, red fruits, a bit of apple. Very good. Flavour is even better; a good amount of pomegranate flavour along with a bit of citrus, lemon, lactic acid, yogurt, wheat, oak. Not too funky. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp and perfect on a hot day like today. Good carbonation. Finish is pomegranate and lemon acidity. Overall, one of the best berliners I've had in a long time and that also includes De Garde.

650ml bottle, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a pale, pinkish straw color, hues of rose and taupe, very hazy and cloudy where a huge, billowy white head appears, 3 or 4 fingers high that recedes fairly quickly into nothingness, no lace to speak of. The aroma is pleasant, herbal hibiscus, wildflower, pomegranate, berry, lemon citrus, light must with soft cracked wheat. The flavors are nice, plenty of fruit, very tart and sour, pomegranate is light, berry fruits, strong acidic citrus, wildflower, lots of hibiscus, pale grain, mild funkiness. The mouthfeel is good, very vibrant and lively, very high carbonation, a bit of sharpness as this is quite sour, coats fairly well with a strong pucker at the finish.

Verdict: A nice berliner from Bend Brewing, perhaps a bit too sour for my tastes, but the hibiscus is showcased well, decently balanced, but I'd like to see a bit more pomegranate in this. All in all, this is quite a refreshing and enjoyable beer, definitely would be a go to if I was local for summer sessions.

Thanks, libbey!

Pretty pink/light orange color. Thin off-white head.

Lactic character with good amounts of fruit and a bit of grain. Lemon and grapefruit would be my guess if given this blind with a bit of berry juiciness. Nice.

Moderate sour character, grapefruit and lemon flavors, a bit of lactic. Incredibly drinkable. Nice combination of juicy fruits, lactic sour character, mild grain, and low bitterness.

Thin-medium bodied with low-moderate carbonation. I suppose it could have used a bit more carbonation.

Incredibly tasty fruited berliner.

Picked up a few of these bottles at Saraveza.

Pours a light apricot color with a very thin white head that leaves some light spotting.

Smells a for sure floral but I'm not really sure what else is going on there.

Tastes are only slightly tart. A little lemon shines through with a mild herbal quality shining through every once in a while. Has an almost cider like quality.

Mouthfeel is light to medium with lots of carbonation.

Overall is really good an excellent summer offering. Glad I have another one of these.

Pours a thin head on a hazy straw to red colored body.
The aroma is mildly sour strawberry and pomegranate.
The taste starts slow and builds to a nice tart pomegranate flavor, a little grain. Great balance.
The texture is crisp.
An outstanding beer. Perfect for hot days.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy pale orange with a pinkish hue. Nice white head and a thick collar.

Smell - A little floral and a bit of cherry. Grainy. Light acidity.

Taste - Fruity. Not as distinctly cherry. Lemony tang. Very grainy.

Mouthfeel - Very light. Nice sourness.

Overall - This suffered from being late in a tasting but it's clean and tasty.
