Graciously gifted to me by Sharpski...

The beer pour a brownish amber color, and so not exactly what I was expecting for an imperial stout. The beer has some pretty nice creamy head with good retention otherwise. On the nose, I was surprised by what I picked up (in a good way). There's lots of green chile, vanilla and brown sugar, with hint of underlying chocolate, cinnamon, and light coffee as well. Impressive. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this moderately sweet beer, with the subtle chile spice and heat countering that sweetness very nicely. There is a pretty impressive milk dud quality to this beer as well... something i typically pick up only on the finest barrel aged beers that have seen extensive barrel aging. Mouthfeel is soft, creamy and long, but with a bit of noticeable bite from the alcohol on the end of the finish. Otherwise, alcohol is fairly well integrated into the flavor profile, though as mentioned above, the beer is a bit boozy and hot.

On tap at BBC 12.29.11. Tonya brewed this in collaboration with The Home Brew chef, Sean Paxton. Small glasses only due to high ABV and rarity, this was aged for 10+ months before pub only release.

One finger dark brown head, quick dissipation with above average lacing over dark brown almost black opaque body. Very complex and inviting nose, I picked up big dose of dark chocolate balanced by spicy, more cayenne than cinnamon, citrusy hops. Taste mirrors nose, chocolatey goodness balanced by orange peel, spicy on the back end, leading to a smoky peppery finish. Mouthfeel is just on the full side of medium, a bit sticky, ABV well hidden due to prolonged conditioning and complex flavor profile. While the flavor profile could be a bit cleaner spice-wise, this was one very tasty beer.
