A bit boozy in a good way. Lots of bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, toffee.

L: pours dark brown syrup with a small head that fades fast.
S: awesome aroma....sweet bourbon, caramel coated raisins.
T: This is awesome!! Starts with bourbon and caramel and lasts till the finish of butterscotch and caramel. The buttery finish is long lasting and amazing.
F: thick syrup feel, so smooth and coating.
O: outstanding! One if the best babw's

22oz bottle served in a snifter. Bought it at the brewery a while back. Bottled on 03/14/17.

Pours murky brown with very little head and very little carbonation. Smell is booze and wood. Dates and/or raisins.

Taste is boozy, bittersweet, surprisingly strong bitter finish actually helps cut the booziness a little. Dates or raisins still noticeable.

Mouthfeel is thick and sticky, slightly more effervescent than I was afraid it would be. Overall, it's not bad.

Looks sorta like mud puddle water (in a good way), smells of intense vanilla and caramel, and tastes like a fig and plum-infused Tootsie Roll. This is awfully yummy.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a hazy, medium orange amber with a half finger khaki head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of dark stone fruit, dates, figs, caramel and light biscuit malt and hint of oxidation. Flavor is rich caramel and biscuit malt, dates, figs, fresh and dried dark stone fruit, hints of chocolate, wood and bourbon. Finishes chocolaty and malty. Medium bodied with a light creaminess. A quite malty barleywine, almost a hybrid of English barleywine and old ale; as fan of both, this was a surprise at first, but really grew on me. Full flavored and complex. Unfortunately I've never had the base barleywine, but the barrel effects are light to moderate in this, possibly because of the fullness of the malt. The finish is particularly nice with biscuit malt at the fore and the lighter, more classic English barleywine dark fruit and hints of bourbon and wood accenting. Odd that there was mild oxidation in the aroma, as this is new bottle, but there is none in the flavor. I will correct that if I'm lucky enough to find another bottle because this is a great candidate for long cellaring.
