Commercial building on the south side of downtown. Rustic interior with long straight bar opposite the entrance, brewhouse visible behind bar, some communal tables and counter seating inside, and patio seating out front. 18 beers on tap, single cans to go. Friendly, knowledgeable bartender. I did not try the food.

I visited Three Magnets a week or so ago while traveling down Olympia way. I had definitely been looking forward to visiting Three Magnets, and this was my opportunity!

On my visit, they had 11 of their own beers on tap, plus 3 collaboration beers and 1 guest beer. They had many IPAs, but also a kölsch, a brown, a lager, a barleywine, and a "pub beer". The Mimzy IPA was pretty solid, more of a classic IPA than a hazy, and well executed. The "hazy style" kölsch is quite tasty as well, if unconventional.

Taproom has a couple long communal tables as well as some 4-tops, and lots of outside seating. Taproom has a bit of an industrial feel but it's clean and welcoming. and the wood is especially pretty. There's a TV but the volume is off and chill music is playing. There's no bar seating at the moment, but service at the ordering station is prompt if not particularly outgoing. They don't do taster trays (which is reasonable enough), but they don't do half-pours either, which it would be good to see.

i was so pumped to finally get here, these guys have really become a regional favorite of mine, so many beers, all so interesting, and the visit did not disappoint, although with the pandemic and all it was quite a different experience, with these guys seemingly taking it a bit more serious than many others, which i appreciate, but which also limits the experience quite a bit. the only part that diminished the overall though was that they are using plastic cups instead of glass, really tough to buy a super nice beer and get it in this format, but its still better than being closed or spreading the virus! the space is cool, even though it didnt appear to be all the way open, funky inside, a neatly converted old building it seems, right downtown, with production in the back and a long bar behind a beer hall layout when you walk in, so politics on television given the recent election, a tented outdoor space to protect from the rain and wind, and a bunch of blue picnic tables in the alley and on the adjacent hill there, which i assume to be additional seating, maybe just during the virus times, but i am not positive. the space is low lit, mellow, and seems to fit with their package aesthetic pretty well. it was a totally contact free experience, order and pay via app, pick up beer and food from window, so it was a bit impersonal, but i get it. the beers we had were awesome, a coffee dark lager, an everything bagel inspired ipa, and a dry hopped hazy blonde, real creative across the board, and i wished i wasnt driving so we could dig a little deeper into their menu. the food we had was awesome too, chicken burger with kimchi and a fantastic salad, all real handmade, seems like their kitchen operation is running a little limited too right now, but the meal was exceptional, well ahead of normal brewery food standards in both quality and creativity, and it complimented the beers well. i will definitely look forward to coming back here under normal conditions, but this is one of the best up and coming breweries in the region and it was a pleasure to check them out. not to be missed if you are anywhere near here, i am a bigger and bigger fan every time i have one of their beers!

This is one of the main craft brewers that got my hyped about weekly releases in beer, i love the different juices they produces years before the New England IPA trend hit the West Coast. If you're a Sounders FC fan this should be the only place you watch the games around town, the crew and patrons chant and sing the support songs as if you are at the game. Other than paying too much for a heaven grass fed massaged cow who lived the greatest life of all time tiny burger this place is chill. Thank you for having friend cheese curds on the menu. <3

Had lunch on 5-20-19 with Da Boss.

Location was near a bank with parking apparently only available on the street as all lot parking appeared to be for the bank. Vibe inside was pretty cool with the dark wood theme going on. Kind of smallish inside, with a small patio on the outside.

Quality of the beers i had were solid. Enjoyed an IPA and bought a four-pack to go off an old ale barleywine brew which i sampled one and it was pretty solid.

Service was good and friendly as one wait staff covered an early Monday lunch smallish crowd. No knowledge level was displayed.

Selection was a lot of IPAs is all i remember, more than a few milkshakes. The web site indicated a 1st anniversary barrel beer and an imperial oatmeal stout but they were both gone which was disappointing.

Food was pretty good as i wanted to try the Nashville Chicken which was solid but not great by any stretch. Da Boss had a salad with fried chicken which was good.

Overall the team there could do a better job of managing their external communication on what beers are available. Other than that they are a likeable establishment.

Stopped here for lunch and beers. They have a bar, seating area, and some outdoor tables. Beer list was heavy on IPAs, but also had some more diverse styles available. They do flights if you want to sample. They have select beers for takeout in cans and large bottles. Server was friendly, and the food was really good.

Bit confusing finding the brewery. Two separate entrances with at least 2 eateries in an open space with different hours.
Anyway, bar is cozy. Good variety on tap. Would stop by again when in Olympia.

My limited experience with 3 Magnets beer has been pretty positive, so as I planned to make a quick stop at the Eastside Club tavern anyway (which is no more than a couple blocks away), I figured I should pay the brewery tasting room a visit.

Located at the corner of Franklin and SE Legion avenue I believe, I ended up walking in from Franklin street, through the nice size back patio area. The tasting room has the look of a small warehouse room, and so there's nothing particular extraordinary about the place visually. There's a nice size TV in the medium sized tasting room (there's a fair size bar area with around 10 seats I think, and a smattering of picnic tables and the like in the tasting room), which on this day was showing women's professional soccer. There's definitely a relaxed, low key vibe to the tasting room, which I always appreciate.

In terms of the beer and selection, I'm wondering if I was just here on an off week. There were just 6 beers on tap the Saturday afternoon I stopped in, with 5 guests taps (and a couple of ciders) as well. The gose and little juice IPA (smoothie edition) were both excellent, and the eastside tavern pale was pretty enjoyable (fairly hoppy pale ale). However, the sun IPA was way too sweet and malty for me, and the big juice DIPA was mediocre at best I thought. I got the 5 beer sampler tray (a bargain at $8 for five 4 ounce pours I thought), and I ended up leaving most of the Sun and Big Juice. I should add that you can get growlers to go here ($14 for most of the beers, but I think $18 for the gose and DIPA). As for service, it was OK. There were two women behind the bar the day I was here, and while they weren't particularly interactive, they were friendly enough otherwise (the tasting room was doing a fairly brisk business the afternoon I was here).

Shrug. Given my pretty positive experiences with 3 magnets beer, I guess my expectations were perhaps unrealistically high for the tasting room. I really feel as if I need to give this place another chance, perhaps when they have a more interesting and diverse tap selection. I asked the bartender when they expect to have their fresh hops beers on tap (the FH IPA I had from them last year was terrific), but didn't get much of an answer (they weren't available yet, and it was unclear just when they would be). All things considered, at least on the Saturday I visited, my experience with the tasting room was pretty underwhelming.

Visited with wife and kids on a Saturday afternoon. We got there around four, it wasn't super busy. Staff was friendly, but service was spotty. Beer was good (but not great), food was good and much more interesting that typical bar food (but not cheap). This place is an hour from my home, and it won't justify taking a trip out there, but if I find myself in Olympia, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Vibe is laid back, lots of wood and bar high seating. one big tv with low volume will be playing soccer typically.
Quality is high, good beer and food the entire place is clean and well kept. the patio is nice if the sun is out.
Service is lax but the servers are cool and will take care of you. just don't go in there expecting everything to be 5 star wait staff. talk to them about beer, its kind of their thing.
Selection is solid beer features about 10 taps around 8 will be their beers with a guest or 3.
food is unique and high quality with farm, fish or garden options. the fries just ago an overhaul and are much better.

Overall the place was good, had kind of a fun vibe. I like the indoor-outdoor door that makes the place feel open. Seems like they put more effort into their food as opposed to just something to help was their beer down. Service was kind of slow, but that kind of thing doesn't bother me nearly as much as most of the entitled princesses on this site.

Here's my main critique:
6 out of the 8 house beers on tap on 10/11/2015 are pale ales or IPAs, which is the beer scene in the PNW in a nutshell. None of them are particularly noteworthy or mind blowing either. The black lager was actually pretty good. If you can brew a decent lager, you are a good brewer. I wish the brewers would spend some more time exploring other styles than the stagnant pale ale/IPA.

I won't come back to drink more pale/IPAs, but as soon as the taplist reflects some diversity with some darker beers, I will surely come back.

Update 8/25/2022 - Not sure what I ate when I was last here in in 2015, but the fish and chips I had tonight were pretty awful. The fish didn’t seem fresh and the batter tasted like it was fried in month old cooking oil (or possibly just reheated by frying it a second time). The vinegar and salt fries were equally disappointing, and the cilantro in the slaw just seemed out of place. If I wasn’t so hungry, I might have sent the whole thing back. Don’t believe I’ll be back again. - end of update.

Stopped in on a Weds evening after work. The place had a good vibe and a lively atmosphere. The service was attentive, friendly and prompt. The food menu was varied, much more diverse than your average brewpub, and my cuban sandwich with fries was very good.

Eight of nine beers on the menu were on tap to include their Grisette (very interesting and exactly as described - for the saison lover), Brimley Stout (not quite sure of the style here, kind of drinks and smells like a mild coffee stout, with maybe even a bit of lactic acid?), Galaxian Pale, Little Juice IPA (very nice citrus /grapefruit hop profile with a well balanced malt backstop), Red Sauce IRA (a red rye ale with a well hidden 8.1% abv - if I were a local I'd be taking home a growler of this one), 14 degree Black Lager (easy drinking roasted malt lager - a more intense version of Blue Points Toasted Lager), 10 minute Pale and 3Mag Rain IPA. The beer menu contained detailed descriptions of each and there was also a blackboard of another half dozen guest taps of local area brews and ciders.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place, and would definitely come back. The beers were all very distinctive for their style. Definitely catoring to the beer geek in all of us, with an interesting food menu to compliment the eclectic flavors incorporated in their beers.
