Pours and amberish gold, quite clear, and has about a good finger of head. Upon break there is a small island of bubbles and some good lacing.
Smell is malt dominated, with biscuity and caramel malts coming to the front. There are some nice florals that come through as well with the hops.
Taste follows the nose for the most part. The hops bitterness is up front though, I quite like this take on this. Then you get those nice malts. The caramel takes the front seat, but the biscuit malt is what you get on the tail end leaving a nice residual flavor.
Feel is actually a bit heavier than most lagers, a firm middleweight. Carbonation is nice, and there is a nice dry bitter finish to this. There is no hint of almost 7% ABV.
A nice beer. I am not usually a lager type, but I really quite enjoyed this one. There is a nice blend of hops and malts that makes for a very nice beer to have on a beautiful Spring day.
