Picked this up at a great beer shop in Darmstadt, Germany, Maruhn Welt der Getränke. Slightly cloudy yellow-amber pour with a fluffy two finger off-white head with great retention and lacing. Resiny, piney, floral nose with big citrus notes along with hints of tangerine, grapefruit, caramel, mango, and orange peel. The taste follows suit with piney hops and citrus once again dominating. HInts of grapefruit, mango, caramel, toffee, apricot, and resin. The mouthfeel is oily, slightly chewy, and nicely balanced with medium carbonation and a great bittersweet finish. Overall, this isn't quite as special as the West Coast Backbone Splitter, but it's still a bold and flavorful IPA that's really refreshing. Two of the best German Craft IPA's I've had, and both from this up and coming brewer!

Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass from a .33l bottle purchased at the Craft Beer Store in Dresden, Germany.
APPEARANCE – Hazy golden orange in color w/ a nice thick off-white head.
SMELL – Nice citrusy aroma.
TASTE – Surprisingly malty front with an odd hoppy bitterness that lingers on.
MOUTHFEEL – Good body with a nice balance of carbonation.
OVERALL – A decent IPA -- especially given it's country of origin. Not a beer that I would likely seek out, but given a choice between this and the standard German offerings (ie: Weizen, Pils or Helles) I would certainly choose this IPA.

A quite good American IPA, you can feel the west-coast hop profile in the smell as well as the taste. Heavy on the tropical fruits, like mango and pineapple, as well as some dank pine.

Light orange color, slightly hazy with creamy head that lingers on. The aroma is quite rich. Mango and citrous notes are upfront, supported by a well integrated caramel malt aroma. Notes of tea are also present, which
immediately suggests some dryness in the taste. Overall the fragrance is not very assertive though. The taste
is relatively monotonic, where the earthiness of the hops is almost immediately killed by the dry character of this beer. This is hitting the palate shadowing any other flavors. Not bad and not good either. Sip after sip
the beer loses character and does not grow on me. Overall, this is a mild IPA, probably too light-bodied without
a rich bag of flavors.

330ml bottle, poured into testing glass.
A: Pale amber, clear, decent sized, fast fading head, slightly hazy, moderate lacing.
S: An explosion of Simcoe hops, also had some some fruits and
farmyard funk.
T: Combined gummibear and grapefruit with some sweetness from Munich and
Vienna malts. Long bitter finish. Very well balanced.
M: Smooth, with moderate carbonation, medium body.
O: I thought it combined the characteristics of an American IPA with a Vienna
lager, refreshing and easy to drink for the strength. Lots of character without being
overpowering.

Brewed with Horizon, Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe hops; Pilsener, Muenchner, Wiener, and Caraamber malts. BBD of 25.11.16
Lightly hazy orange with minimal head. Aroma is also light, but exceptionally fresh and fruity. Perhaps even more so than fruity is a freshly cut, wet grass/resiny aroma that makes this beer refreshing before even tasting it. Taste is very much resinous and piney, with the 60 IBUs definitely present. However, I like how the bitterness is fully integrated into some caramel sweet maltiness. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky, especially given the 6,6%. The body alone feels like a 8%+ DIPA.
Overall, great IPA, and nice to see such a dank quality from one out of Germany, where the tend to be a bit too bitter for me.
