Firetrucker Brewery

Brick building that has the outlines of a fire station. Nearby surface lot parking plus street parking. Interior has lots of windows on several sides for good outside lighting. Lower beamed ceiling, gray cinder block walls, and a concrete floor. Angled bar for ordering and a couple of stools. Other seating at high and low tables, booths, and a lounge area with couches and cushioned chairs. TVs scattered around showing sports. About fifteen taps, with varying styles. View of brewing equipment behind the bar. Energetic staff. Local gathering for locals and events.

A repurposed old firehouse made into a brewery . It’s in a the Uptown area of Ankeny , lots of bars ,Taphouses easiest to walk to . As you walk inside the bar area and visible tanks are back to the right , a small bar with tables inside with a larger outdoor seating area is in back . Had around 8 beers on tap with flights available, and pounders to go. No kitchen here but do have food truck , and outside entertainment/music , a fun place to visit,small parking lot.

It's an old firehouse which is cool. Very chill atmosphere, a little unique layout overall. Inside average amount of seating, clean, half firehouse and half brewhouse basically. Back patio is spacious and has some games including a unique custom bags setup, which is fun. Front patio also spacious with covered seating and a lot of parking for bikes as it is right off a bike trail. Overall good, unique impressions, I highly recommend

Really cool place in an old fire house. Pretty good beer, bartenders were friendly. Not a ton of brews on tap, and I’d rather see more of their own instead of guest taps, with occasional exceptions.

 

 

 

I have been here several times. There is a nice brewery/bar atmosphere. I think they usually have 8-12 of their own beers on tap and 4 guest beers. I have been happy with everything I have had there. They have a very good variety of beers that they make and none have disappointed me thus far. shout out for Cat in a Tree because no other ginger beer has ever compared for me.

 

Cool little brewery. The service was very quick and it is definitely a decent place to hang out. That being said I've had quite a few beers from them and none were anything spectacular, most were just okay, some terrible. Don't go in expecting much, but if you're already in the area check it out.

Visited at opening (noon) on a Friday. Old firehouse that has been modernized. Very neat and clean. Service was excellent and knowledgeable. Tried four styles and found them all to be above average. Food not available here. From conversations with bartender it seemed like an up and coming place. Enjoyed my visit.

 

 

Started out slow but their beer is getting better and better....looking for good things from them soon!

 

 

Great atmosphere! Plenty of seating/tables, nice bar, plus an outdoor patio. Really friendly staff, and knowledgeable too. Pretty decent beer; all of them have great mouthfeel, and body. A few taste profiles are are slightly "off" (hoppy amber not too hoppy, stout with a bit of a "fishy" flavor, IPA pretty malty). I know I sound like I'm complaining - but truly I had a really nice time here, and obviously each person's taste buds are different so don't kill me over this brief review.

General point - visit this brewery - it's absolutely worth the try!
