When I visited M-Brew, it was ~9pm on a Saturday night. This is really about the time that is pushing the limit for kids to be there. I saw multiple groups of kids present at the tables in the basement. Granted, that is the parents doing not the establishment. However, its good for any visitor to know as that may not be the vibe you want on a Saturday night.

Had to remind myself to watch my language. Had fun otherwise. Pinball is always a good time.

Decent beer selection, but a tad expensive IMO. Mostly common crafts.

Where do I begin to describe M-Brew? Phenomenal seems like a good start...

Vibe: From the outside, M-Brew has a different look and feel to it. It's an old VFW hall that was converted into the "craft beer cafe" that it is today. This place has two levels and each offer a different atmosphere. The upper floor has an up north feel to it while the lower level is an old school arcade with many different pinball machines and video games. Only gripe is that space is limited on the upper level due to the layout but the LL more than makes up for that. There is also some outside seating for the summer.

Service: I usually go once a week and even on the busy nights (Friday/Saturday), service is always great. You order food and beer at the counter, there is no table service.

Selection: Outstanding...expect 30 craft taps, all from Michigan. They also have a limited selection of canned brews and bottle mead. Taps are rotated fairly often so there is always new selections every week.

Food: Incredible! The pizza they make in-house is amazing and reasonably priced. Most everything else on their menu uses Michigan ingredients or themed dishes from around the state; U.P. pasties, Detroit Coney Island conies, Frankenmuth style chicken wings, etc. Their food is always great and always fresh.

If you're looking for an under-the-radar Ferndale spot, you just found it.
