The colour is deep brown-red (60 EBC), the liquid got some dusty stuff floating around. The finger thick head is beige and compact, it sinks slowly leaving lote of lacing on the glass.
The smell is thick, fat and hoppy. American citric hops, bitter herbs and sweet caramel. Orange juice and plums, grapefruits and lemon candy.
The taste is thick, sweet and bitter with lots of citric peels. It reminds much of the early 00’s American DIPAs. Hints of bitter herbs, olive oil and rubber. Full body. Smooth sweetness in the aftertaste and citric fruits reminds of fresh orange juice. Thick malty sweetness and fruits and plastic/rubber notes. The finish is bitter sweet with lots of orange peels.
The carbonation is mild, the long lasting bubbles are small. The liquid is thick and sticky.
A bitter American barleywine or a sweet DIPA? It is quite well crafted and balanced.
