12 oz bottle picked up at Jim's Homebrew in Spokane, WA. Pours an vaugely cloudy orange-amber, moderate amount of head with pretty nice lacing. Smell is dominated by malts, some floral hops in there, maybe a little citrus. Taste is much the same, big malt up front followed by some pretty subdued hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thick and smooth, moderate carbonation, very easy to drink. Not sure what the ABV is but goes down very easily. This really isn't an IPA, it really is exactly what it claims to be: a double pale ale. There's a hop presence there to balance out the malt, but nothing huge. Very drinkable, refreshing, pretty nice balance. Probably won't seek it out again but it's totally worth a try.

Handsome clear orange amber with plenty of foam in the narrow Bitburger Pils glass. Quite fragrant with resins and orange. Even a touch of green beans. Very spritzy and a little sharp. Fruity and perky with a lot of pleasant malt taste. Moderately bitter with a citrus peel aftertaste and some sugar on the lips.

Overall this tastes more like a common IPA than anything like a Pale Ale, Imperial or otherwise. But you wouldn't mistake it for a DIPA even though it is plenty malty. Interesting that a small brewery is still making the same beer in an oddball style after at least 16 years. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Central Market.

Golden colored with the mildest of hazes. Small head but it provides plentiful spots and streaks on the glass.

I may have a bad beer line here -- I get stale brewhouse floor smell.

Neutral body considering the full flavor. Mostly malt to start with a bit of oily alcohol to the mouthfeel. The hop isn't very strong given the style but provides decent balance to the finish and aftertaste.

For me, this is a pretty typical Imperial IPA even though it seems to not have as much of a wallop as other exponents of the style.

Pours an orangey color & smells candy-sweet. Flavor is a big hit of grapefruit up-front and a malty sweetness giving way to a big boozy mouthful.

Not my usual style but nothing terribly special about it in a city/region where a ton of these are brewed.

An appearance darker than your average ipa, almost light brown and auburn. 1/2" white head. Aroma wasn't really hoppy.

A sweet ipa, caramel sweetness. Grapefruit with sugar added to cut the bitterness. Bomber format sucks, would not repeat buy, nothing unique or awesome here. Comes off like a brown lactose ale.
