Bigby's Pour House

Great little bar with an ever changing selection of different styles. Surprisingly good food and friendly patrons populate the place. A mix of bar stools, tables and couches, along with several boards games makes this a cozy place to quench your thirst.

Great craft beer addition to the area. Much overdue. As mentioned below, an old Caribou Coffee was converted and the results are great. Not a big space by any means but plenty of comfy chairs and bar seating. Draft list is kept current on beermenus which is a plus. Variety is generally solid and constantly rotating. They seem to give a nice focus to Illinois breweries which is good. Pricing seems on par with other places in the suburbs. They have a limited food menu now. Had a pizza once and it was ok but I'm there for the beer. Parking is fine although some times busy with the other restaurants in the same area. Haven't been to the original Addison location but this one is definitely worth a visit.

Super cool place to go enjoy your favorites as well as something new. Size does matter in this case and the fact that it isn't enormous makes it feel like it's home. The bar area is super cool (spend an hour staring at the bottle cap bar), but the fact that they converted a Caribou Coffee into a pour house makes this place unique in every corner. Lounge chairs, couches, a fireplace + the best beers available in the Midwest and beyond make this place my knew favorite spot to enjoy a pour.

 

Good atmosphere if on the small side but fills a void in the suburban beer scene. Good selection and rotation of beers on the taps, including many local breweries and differing styles. Lots of bottles as well including bombers at not horrible prices. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and very willing to talk and offer samples of their draft offerings. Having cider and wine make it a good place to go to if others in your party aren't into beer. Prices are reasonable and the pour sizes and glasses are correct for the various styles. One of my new favorite places to just get a good craft beer in a relaxed atmosphere.

 

So this place just opened a week or two ago, and, after bringing it up to VDubb during a visit to his place, we resolved to check it out, his wife accompanying us. The place is in a small satellite strip mall flanked by restaurants, stores, and the like. Inside, it is very similar to the Addison location, only shaped as a long rectangle instead of a general square. Small tables, a fireplace, and some armchairs line the right wall, while the bar takes up the majority of the left side, bottle cap bar included. Tap handles hang around the place. We took up our posts at the bar and were welcomed by the bartender, who was very friendly and, with a few questions, clearly knowledgeable about the beers he slings. The tap list, though decidedly smaller than the Beer Market down the Street, was excellent, with plenty of local stuff (Revolution, Marz, BuckleDown, Temperance, Une Annee, and the like) and other goodies, like Vivant, 4 Hands, Founders, and a couple ciders. There's some nice-looking bottles and some wines available as well. Unlike the Addison location, there aren't any flights, but I believe I was told they will be coming in the near future. As far as I could tell, they don't serve food, but that may come later. I dunno. The prices were pretty solid for the general not-Chicago Cook County area, pints averaging $6-7. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and I know I look forward to future visits. Good times, indeed.
