Les 3 Brasseurs "Dorchester" - La Biére Du Quartier for the St-Denis, Montreal location
On tap @ 1658 Rue St-Denis, Montreal, QC
$4.25 Canadian / 30 cl glass

Notes: This is the house beer for the St-Denis location. Specs: 6% abc, 23 IBUs, Golden color @ 15.2 SRM. It utilizes Pilsen, Munich, and Crystal malts as well as Nugget hops for bitterness and Czech Saaz hops for aroma. "This old style brew presents a generous amount of ginger blended with subtle notes of caramel" - - - Clear amber in color with a short lived frothy white head. Lacing is average. Spicy and phenolic in the nose, but the ginger isn't particularly clear - which is OK. Clearly Belgian yeast. The malt acts as a base for the ginger and the Belgain yeast. SPICY = restrained bitterness and hop flavor as they're not needed. Dry, herbal finish... from hops? Spice? Yeast? A combination, no doubt. Charming, interesting, and unique.
