From a bottle dated on the waxed cap, 2017. This is now sold as a four pack of cans.
L: Pours a thick, oily dark brown with a tan head that hangs around a bit, excellent lacing and a nice oily film on the glass.
S: Nose gets some dark fruit, toffee and roasted malts, bourbon and ash.
T: Tongue gets some coffee, dark chocolate just a hint of alcohol.
F: This is one of the "chewier" BA stouts that I've had the pleasure of trying.
O: This beer, with a year under its belt us about as good as they get.

Pretty good overall. Having it on tap at Tuscan Market in Arlington Heights. Dark chestnut brown color with a two-finger mocha colored head that dissipates quickly leaving some lacing on the glass. Aromas of molasses and dark fruit. Taste of bitter coffee, molasses and a nice roasty flavor. Plenty of oak from the barrel. Pretty slick mouthfeel with decent carbonation. Definitely keep you warm on a cold Winter's Night.

Jet black body with brown ring of foam. Smell is boozy bourbon, with wood, molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, cola, and vanilla. Taste is also boozy, especially up front, sweet and dark complimentary pieces: hot bourbon, wood, dark chocolate, coffee, fudge, molasses, leather, licorice, and big vanilla. Booze is hots, but it works well with the overall flavors.

Pours a silky and richly viscous motor oil black and appears oily on the surface with minimal brown foam that fades to a thin ring on the edge of the glass.

Rich and pungent notes of espresso, coffee grounds, and heavily roasted malts lend bitter notes to the sweet chocolate, mild berry fruitiness, and spicy-sweet bourbon.

Dark berry fruitiness and chocolate sweetness emerge at first sip and are followed by a climatic wave of roasty goodness and bourbon warmth.

Full-bodied, low carbonation, rich, bold, roasty, warming.

Overall, I was quite surprised at how well done this beer is from a brewery I rarely hear about, but they nailed the style and this beer is one to seek out.

This fits into the same class of overdone coca-cola tasting BA stouts that you can find anywhere. This doesn't mean that it's a bad beer, merely that it isn't doing anything to differentiate itself from anything else out there.

Was highly recommended to me by one of the places I shop and I was surprised how much I liked this beer. It kind of reminded me of Black Tuesday... not quite a clone but like a cousin. For $18 a bottle, its a good value. I liked it so much, I picked up 2 more bottles to age a bit.

Bourbon Barrel version poured into a CCB snifter. Deep black color with minimal tan head. Thick viscous body with a chocolate and bourbon aroma. Tastes of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla. Definitely solid barrel characteristics here. Slight booze but still a very smooth finish. This is a really solid BA stout!

2 variants available, 1 aged in bourbon barrels and the other aged in rye whisky barrels. The bourbon barrel aged pours a nice deep dark black color, little head on the beer. Tastes of vanilla, oak, along with chocolate and dark roasted malt, a little boozy. Overall I loved it, great 1st barrel aged from this brewery.
