On-tap at the brewery. Average to look at, little head and no lacing. Put the glass to my nose and could not seem to smell anything. So I took a taste... I cannot remember every trying a beer which I could barely taste, and if I hadn't tried this, I would not believe that beer could be this flavorless. A faint malt sweetness comes through ever-so-briefly. Wierd, its as if they were trying to conceive the world's blandest ale - "Stealth Ale," if you will. Not recommended.

A pretty simple beer as it only has four listed ingredients (water, malt, hops & yeast) It's good but not that flavorful. Light bodied and easily drinkable.

Taste is sweet caramel malt early, then dark fruits.
Bitter finish.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 01.09.14.
A: See through rust color. No head. Some opaqueness at top. Maybe sediment?
S: Sweet malt. Caramel. Picking up black olive too.
T: Caramel, burnt toast, black olive.
M: Crisp.
O: This could have been an old beer but there was no date. This is why Greg from Gregsbeerreviews always rants about this. I can guess that this beer was old, but I don't know for sure. Anyway, the black olive flavor prompted a drain pour. Almost every beer that I've had from Pike has ended the same way. Maybe they have QC issues.

Poured a slightly clouded amber with an orange tint. The head is toward the creamy end with an off-white hue. The aroma is pretty mild, with some light hints of bread. The taste is a bit more forward, with a nice bready flavor with background notes of medium dark fruit and an earthiness to it from the hops. It has a nice weight to the body, a slight bite on the finish. Reminded me of some of the bitters from England. Not quite the same, but pretty close.
