22 oz bottle, no freshness. Poured into Hennepin tulip/chalice. According to it is a saison/ IPA hybrid.

A: orange/ dark gold color, with a huge foamy thick 3 finger off white head sits on top, looks like a milkshake. the beer is cloudy and unfiltered. nice lace around the rim and sides of the glass. a pile of foam stays in the center of the glass too.

S: spice, clove, orange, pepper, citrus, banana, pine, sweet malt, floral, grassy, herb, honey.

T: clove, herb, honey, pepper, piney/resiney bitterness, sweet bready malt with a lingering taste of rose petal and pine on the end. Truly a delicious beer. the hops give it that extra saison "fruity/citrusy" punch

M: nice medium bodied beer, maybe a tad undercarbonated.

O: I love both of these styles, I really enjoyed this beer.

Tasted 4 June 2015. Pike was one of the breweries that got me into craft. Recently moved back to Seattle, and trying out a few beers I've not had before.

This is a rich, juicy, flavorful saison, full of sweet blooming yeast aromas. It's a little too bitter for my tastes - I know the name says so, but I don't think hops generally add much to saisons. Otherwise tasty.

Quite an interesting and unexpected find here in Greensboro today.Poured into a large tulip glass a somewhat hazed burnt orange tinged golden with a large fluffy white crown that stuck like glue to the glass as it settled very slowly.Light yeasty spice in the nose along with some fruity esters, both are light but pleasant.Flavors are yeasty and lightly spiced with some medicinal hops thrwon in,not much funk to be had here wich really isn't true to style but that's fine with me.It's a little off in the style department but it's nice and well rounded, but like the other person who has reviewed this beer says it really seems like more of a tripel.

Bottle I brought to share at drewone's tasting.

Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, yeast, floral, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with floral and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of yeast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a better hop presence in the aroma in my opinion.

Sort of a different approach to a Saison IMO. Has the fruity aromas, and the full bodied, hazy look with a very bubbly head. Taste is pretty basic upfront but the finish is very dry, almost bitter hoppiness. Im certainly no expert to the style but I can tell that it is a pretty unique finish for a farmhouse. I enjoyed the beer and recommend trying it. It isnt bad.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a clean, clear honey-gold color with about a half-inch of white head that had good retention and left moderate lacing.

The aroma had a bold yeast scent that was stronger than you generally see in the style, actually the yeast scent reminded me of the type of yeast you get in a Tripel. There was the expected earthy grainy malts you find in the typical Saison. The flavors were pretty much the same. Again, this seemed to me to be a Saison made with a Tripel yeast, as it had some of the fruity aspects you'd find in that style. There was just a slight bit of funk at the back that I'm not sure was designed into the brew, but added a nice little kick nonetheless.

The body was good, as I find Saisons to typically have, but this one was slightly tangy and had a very dry finish. Overall, a nice take on the style. Certainly worth trying if you see it.
