Handsome auburn brown color with a decent off-white foam in the Bitburger Pils glass. Plenty spritzy on the tongue, Malty body. Carrot cake aroma is not too strong.

The taste of Butterfingers comes to mind. Some caramel along with a modest spice. The pumpkin flavor comes through distinctly and it's a better taste than many others of the species. Some sugar along with the malt. No trace of hops but there is a suggestion of bitterness in the aftertaste.

This is actually pretty good. The sweetness is a little dialed back, so maybe a little aging has done it some good. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Skagit River Produce near Conway for $4.50

Served On-Tap

A — Pours a deep orangey coppery brownish hue into the glass, looks a bit heavy, some light lacing is left behind, but not much.

S — Incredibly spicy and astringent, loads of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, on top of a chewy rye bread like malt base.

T — Overly spicy notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, etc... A bit of a bready malt base is present, but overthrown by the spices.

M — Slightly heavy with a grainy finish.

O — OK overall, very heavy handed with the spices though.

More like a spiced ale and very close to a black ipa.

Enjoyable. I found it an outstanding economical choice for a pumpkin ale. Good value for the money. Pours from the bottle with a bit of pumpkin to the nose and mouth. Excellent! Found a bottle after a year of storage. Still decent, but overall not a candidate for aging.

Pours a murky deep rustic browny-orange. Small off white head. Leaves a decent little film over the top and little tiers of lacing.

Nose starts with creamy pumpkin meat. Neat! A little bit of chewy sweet malts and it warms into more caramel/biscuity/bready type area.

tarts out reminiscient of a decent amber: some of the bready/doughy malts and a slight hop bite underpinning it, and the pumpkin does come in a little it through the second half, though not in a large way. I get just hints at the nutmeg, until the finish/aftertaste. That's still prettty amber, though the pumpkin makes a bit more of an appearance, and I start to get a little bit of baking spice, but still pretty weak.
Decent medium body. Enjoyable enough, but doesn't really stand out in my oh-so-important opinion.

Every year I try a few pumpkin beers even though they really arent exactly my favorite style. This year, 2014, I tried about 5 new ones, and only 2 made my cut of totally worthy beers.

Harlot's Harvest was one of the 2.

This beer drinks very smooth and easy. A lot darker than your average pumpkin beer. Acceptable hints of pumpkin-pie-style spices without going overboard. Lots of malt, but not too sweet; has more of a roasty taste and aroma.

A very well balanced brew. I will certainly reach for this one every Autumn.
