750 bomber batch No2 poured between two glasses. Color is clear yellow/gold with some chill haze and a fizzy white head that falls quickly leaving little to no lacing behind. Smell is lovely: peach galore, funk, oak, subtle notes of watermelon and cucumber. Taste matches the smell minus the cucumber and watermelon, strong peach and funk with some vineous sour in the forefront. The feel is juicy and effervescent. Overall it's a great sour that I would love to revisit if i have an opportunity!

500ml bottle. Poured out a clear, golden color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of peach, lemon and caramel. Sweet peach taste with tart lemon, oak notes and caramel.

Probably the best sour to be released by Toolbox since A Handful of Peter. Great blend of funk, fruit, and oak. The peaches really shone through, fantastic beer.

Amazing white peach sour. Toolbox never disappoints and this is my favorite from them. Compared to a $50-$60 bottle or veritas, this $20 bottle was superior in my opinion. Perfect tart level with strong peach flavor.

Enjoyed on January 2, 2016 from the bottle. I drank this side-by-side with Valley of Sound (Modern Times) and Veritas 016 (The Lost Abbey) in a peach beer blind tasting showdown.

A: The appearance is a little deceiving with this beer. It's more of a pale, light orange/yellowish color. It's similar to a number of berliner weisses that I've had before with its color and turpidity. This was easily outshone by the other 2 beers in this tasting. Not to say it was unappealing, because I do think it looks appetizing.

S: This was much more promising than the appearance. This beer smelled like peach overload and absolutely destroyed the other 2 beers in that fashion. I had to give this a 4.75 in smell because I'm not sure if there's anything that comes close to the beautiful aromas of Peche 'n Brett.

T: Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! This beer absolutely exploded with white peach flavor. If the smell of this beer was the appetizer, the taste was the main course. Following the fruit flavor was the perfect amount of sourness--not too puckering as to distract from the peach flavor, but not underwhelming (like Peche 'n Brett) either. I was absolutely elated with how Mackinaw tastes--while it's relatively simple in its flavor profile, Toolbox absolutely knocked it out of the park here.

M: This beer had a crisp, carbonated mouth feel. Honestly, it was ideal for this kind of a beer: an intense fruit flavor cut by carbonation and the perfect amount of pucker. Loved this.

O: Overall, this beer easily took first place in my book from this tasting. I almost feel this was unfair to drink next to a beer like V016 because of how differently they drank, despite the common white peach fruit they both share. Where V016 was more sweet and sticky, this was more dry and crisp with more pop and juiciness from the peaches. I guess this what happens when you add "25 pounds of FRESH California White Peaches per wine barrel". Excellent job, Toolbox.

Damn tasty peach AWA. Really nice peachiness to the nose, plenty of fruit but leans toward the unripe side of the fruit. Lacks the balance and complexity that a slightly sweeter, richer fruit would provide. Complaints aside, this is a great beer.
