surprised to see nobody has had anything to say about this one yet, an extremely compelling apricot saison, delightfully tangy, and really authentic on the fruit. it seems increasingly popular to make a wild saison with apricots, but so few of them are this good. it starts with the fruit, nose and taste, its heavy on the apricot, sweet at first, almost more like a dried apricot than a fresh one, concentrated and intense, but also fuzzy and rip and juicy too, best of both apricot sides of the spectrum. very authentic and extremely potent here, there isnt a ton of malt character, so the apricot is allowed to really flavor the entire beer. the yeast is awesome too though, both bretty funky with a little bit of bacterial acidity as well, tang more than sour, very quenching and refreshing, but also just puckery enough to draw me back in for another swig. really cool play between the fruit and the yeast, its a wonderful balance and a bright flavor. active carbonation is a cool feature too, lightening and summery. i have not ad many beers from these guys, but both that i have had recently have been outstanding. surprised they arent getting a little more notoriety out there among the beer geeks, this was incredibly good!

Thank you to Ben and Hillary for sharing.

Hazy yellow body with a fleeting white apex. Lovely apricot aroma. Funky, fresh, fruity, delicious. Refreshing and crushable. Light in body with a gentle acetic character late palate. Awesome.

Another review from the July 11, 2016 visit to San Diego and a bunch of other places including Toolbox. Had this one after consuming the base version, being that apricot is my fave fruit to put in beer, it was of no surprise to myself that I dug this one moreso.

Pours an apricot like color with minimal haze and 1/5" white head. Aroma was pungent apricot sourness. Any other aspect was minimal in comparison.

Taste, woosh, this is a fucking wild ale with some saison like characteristics at best. Its sour AF, but its still delicious and enjoyable. Sure the acidity is well beyond a saison, but hey, its sour and with apricots, how can I not dig on it. Sometimes you gotta put your style guidelines on the ground and forget about it and just enjoy something that tastes good. Mild wooden back end drying effect to it. The body is relatively light, dunno how they packed a relatively high abv into this without it having more of a burn to it, seems like the burn is acidity, not booziness. Wish I had a bottle.
