Notes: Our Hefe is full and clean with citrus notes and classic banana esters on the front end. This one’s bready and unfiltered, hopped for balance and finishes dry. Sweet orange peel additions exaggerate a refreshing mild acidity. Around here you have to keep your summertime drinkers pouring year round.

Picked this up down in Florida a while ago, as the date on the bottom of the can read 2/12/18. Loved the label and name of this beer as it took me back to the Florida that I used to know in the 80's. Pastel colors aside, there wasn't much to this beer as I had no idea how it was ranked so highly for it's style. Sure, it wasn't new but this beer wasn't cloudy and nowhere near as good as the ones that I've had from overseas!

The pour to this wasn't really what I expected as it was waxy, honey, and not unfiltered in any way. A fast-settling head and lack of lacing was a bit surprising too as this came across as quite thin. Soap and grain filled the nose with hints of lemon and spice, but this wasn't even on par with the better, and similar offerings from Sam Adams. Somewhere in this was banana and wheat but I was hard-pressed to find it, even after the beer warmed up. Sure, there was some carbonation in the midst of this and a hint of citrus juice on my palate but this never really felt like a Hefeweizen, until the banana and clove came through in the aftertaste once I finished this off.

Booze? It's here but the amount stated on the can was 6% and not the 5.8% listed on this site. Sure, if I was back down in the Sunshine State I'd reach for this on a hot summer day before the thunderstorms rolled in in the late afternoon. For here, this was just a mindless diversion between beers that I'm attempting to clear out of my stash...

It taste nothing like a hefeweizen more like a fruit beer with hardly any fruit in it. I can't say that I would recommend this. Cheers! C

Contrary to a few of the recent reviews, I must’ve gotten a good batch. Smells off at first but with time mellows to a light bready, sweet aroma. Nice juicy mouthfeel accompanied by ripe passion and citrus fruits, hint of candy apple, and a smooth fluffy finish.

Feels like more of a take on an American White Ale but still good for what it is. Slightly embarassing to call it Hefewiezen-style lol

Light golden color with white cap.

Aroma of ripe banana, bit of clove and some light citrus touches.

Taste is rather ripe banana forward followed by the clove (not too spicy) and citrus in the form of citrus blossoms rather than fruit or zest. At the very first I thought a touch of tartness but that was quickly overcome by the banana. Simple, clean flavors that finish almost dry, which is a plus in this beer because there is balance whereas sweetness might have thrown the whole thing into a more one dimensional taste.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

Overall it's a decent Weiss beer that lacks the complexity or sophistication of the European originals.

the funny name and cool can dont make this a great hefeweizen unfortunately, and after really enjoying their sake beer, i had much higher hopes for something that on paper sounds a little easier. its thin, i dont taste the wheat much, and the yeast tastes like it was fermented way too warm, it takes over the beer, has a little chemical bent to it, and lacks the balance that i like in the style. still some cool spice and banana notes, starch and white and black pepper come to mind, coriander, lemon, and a cooked grain thing, cotton candy and saltwater taffy esters, some residual sugar, and watery feeling even though the carbonation is there. the flavors and their proportions just arent quite right, and it makes it almost seem light on purpose, even cheap to me. i like the citrus tang this finishes with, lemon and orange character, a lot fresher and brighter than it starts, but overall this floridian adapted hefeweizen doesnt quite scratch the itch for me. maybe if they called it a florida wheat and set it up as something other than a classic hefe i would like it better, but with the expectations i came in with, it didnt quite get the job done.

On tap at the Craft Beer Factory in Marietta, GA.
Hazy pale golden with a fine, durable, white head.
Light body, smooth but a touch watery.
Well balanced flavor with less banana and more complexity than usual for style.

12 ounce can - Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Canned On 04/10/18.

Appearance: Pours a golden-hued body, a bit hazy, with a brief, white head that quickly falls flat.

Smell: Sharp pop of clove and chewing gum, also orange, banana and faux granny smith with peanut shell and metal.

Taste: Sweetish wheat, a touch of hot spiced marshmallow and Chiclets. Green apple, 'nana and snappy, tart citrus. Odd metallic vein runs roughshod over the entire flavor.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: This is the flagship beer, huh? Cute can, though!

A: Slightly hazy yellow golden with lots of carbonation, thin white head,

S: Bandaid, little clove and banana, pretty decent amount of fragrance

T: Follows the smell, really classic hefeweizen taste with the tastes I mention above. Finish is nice and bready with the spice you hope to find in this style.

M: Medium

O: A really quality American made Hefeweizen. I could drink this regularly if it was available nearby.
