was spending the holidays back home in East Texas from Mpls, so I went hunting and found this as the only one on BA. Not a very impressive looking store on the inside or out. The most impressive thing is the service, was greeted instantly and was offered all the help possible. The organization was in shambles, admitedly so, he was just trying to get things put in the right spot. The selection was ok, was able to find Stone, Dogfishhead, Harpoon, Kona, Maui, and others. Not a lot of belgium offerings, but the craft offerings were not bad. Would definitely stop back again the next time I come home again.

After seeing two other reviews for this place, I decided I'd check it out myself. For those that know the area, there are two Tucker's on each side of Hwy 31. The location reviewed is on the right side of the road if you are coming from Kilgore.
The building is not much to look at from the outside. Doesn't matter, it's what's on the inside that matters, right? As soon as I entered, the staff were very friendly and asked if I needed help. I asked where the imports/micro's were at. They are straight in the back. I was fairly impressed with what I found. Spaten Optimator, Paulaner Salvator, Youngs Double Choco Stout, Anchor Steam and Liberty. Even assorted Belhaven and McEwans were there. All the other usual imports were there (Henie, Lowenbrau, Becks, etc). Unfortunately, no Belgians other than Stella Artois were seen.
BMC types were kept hidden in their own lockers - just as well since I'm not looking for those anyway.
Overall, a little out of the way for those from the Longview area. But if your're looking for something you can easily find in Dallas, this is a shorter drive and well worth it. Will be back again.

As a displaced micro-drinker, Tucker's is like a beacon in the night for me. It's at least a 30-45 minute drive from my home, but it's the only place between here and Dallas to find Anchor Steam.

I found this place a couple of years ago at the suggestion of the territorial distributor of Anchor Brewing products. This store also has a decent selection of western microbrews -- I didn't notice anything from Shipyard, etc.

If you are in search of a better-than-average selection of microbrews (in NE Texas), this is the place. The people are nice (they've let me split Anchor Steam/Liberty Ale six packs more than once -- probably because I usually spend a fortune there). The store isn't exactly pristine. But it's far from being a dive.

This is a fairly large store for my area. They have a few good lines to offer. Stone, Belhaven's, New Belgium, Fanziskaner, and a few more. The service was excellent! It is an older store, but kept up pretty well, and I was actually surprised when I went in and found the Stone. It is the only place that I know of in North East Texas that carries it. The help was very friendly and offered assistance to me quite a few times. They even gave me a beer that wasn't properly put into the computer because they didn't want to inconvenience me. I told them I wasn't in a hurry, but they insisted I take it. I was please overall with this place for the region. Cheers!
