750ml bottle poured into a tulip

Pours a deep amber/purple color with a one-finger creamy pink head that has good retention. Smells of tart acidic vinegar, fresh squeezed raspberries, raspberry jam, cracked pepper, wet oak and floral yeast. Tastes of fresh raspberry puree, fruity vinegar, lemon juice, peppery yeast, oaky tannins, just a hint of funk at the finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and a crisp finish. Pure raspberry jam, delicious

This consistently pastel reddish-pink beer looks like a glass full of amniotic fluid. A loud fizzy carbonation suggests it might be a sparkling brew, but it fizzles out quickly.

As it pours, the smell starts with a sort of bready funk, but as the glass settles, complexity develops, bringing cashew butter and waxy oak funk that's a little peppery, giving way to a bounty of lemon-lime spritzed raspberries and blackberries.

Taste has plenty of sharp acidity mellowed by a well-distributed, active but thin carbonation which helps deliver plenty of sesame-esque oak and tons of raspberry. A crisp green apple swallow gives Frampaars a very puckering yet salivating finish, allowing it to glide down very quickly, with a tingly yet velvety feel and a semi-dry, Gushers sort of aftertaste.

While very well made with very matured, toasty aromas and flavors, what might otherwise be an outstanding mouthfeel is damaged by an acidity that seems to only increase in potency with time.

Poured 750ml into teku. . Color is dark purple/red and with a very light pink head. Thick collar and spots of lacing. Sour and acidic notes of vinegar and fresh lemon with a good amount of funky raspberry puree. A bit of jam, even mild cheese or yogurt to build up the funk; has some woodiness to it. Very sour and delicious. Plenty of raspberry flavor, some jam like quality that moves into a faint cheese followed by sharp lemon sour and vinegar. Some woody funk on the finish. Light bodied and big carbonation makes for a fantastic mouthfeel. This is about as close to Cantillon that I have had and it is amazing.

Another winner from the fine folks at Funk Factory! Jammy raspberry goodness and just a solid beer. The color is amazing and it's not super tart but just a well put together beer. Worth seeking out!

Ruby red hued purple.

This beer isn't very sour or tart. The aroma is really nice and jammy. The flavor is a bit sweet. Some raspberry jam flavor. Some funk. Very fruity. Easy drinking. Clean.

Lighter bodied. Nice carbonation.

Solid beer, but not too sour or tart which is my only complaint. It is very drinkable though.
____
MT bottle with the new label. Consumed 4/20. Color isn’t as vibrant. A bit tart and citrusy. Lots of berries. Very fruity. Easy drinking. 4.3

750mL bottle poured into an oversized tulip.

Pours the color of a jam. Purple tinted. Settles int the glass a deep rose color with a white head dyed purple. Bits of purple are visible in the head and I'm happy to assume these are chunks of fruit. 4.5

Smells of funk. Yeasty floral notes. Light jammy and fruity notes play a supporting role. I like what I'm smelling other than that I want more fruit popping in my nose. I want that nose candy. 4

Initial sips had me a bit discouraged. Overwhelming floral notes had me feeling like I took a bite out of an iris and there's light vinegar. I keep drinking and the ship begins righting. A true red wine resemblance develops with berry notes, oak, dryness, peppery spice and tannins. Tart raspberry evolves and becomes bolder and more assertive. I come around to how this taste and really find myself enjoying it. 4

Tartness that reaches vinegary levels at times and a strong floral presence are my only objections here. It's got the tart, jammy fruit feel and the funk that I want, but these need to be more outspoken and not overshadowed by the vinegar and floral bouquet. I do appreciate the dryness and wine-like quality. 4

I come around to this. Initially I wasn't impressed and even a tad disappointed, but the key is to give this some time and let the beer open up.

I was looking for this for quite a while, I heard all the hype and i am a huge raspberry sour fan.
I had this next to a 2011 LPF and a '11 Framboos. All three were amazing but i was not expecting Frampaars to hold its weight agaist the other two. I was not let down . Nice lambic sour taste and a very nice ammount of rapberry. Smells amazing looks astounding. Feels great. I have nothing i can complain about.

L: Nice deep red, murky pinkish head with some white.

S: Nice raspberries and some funk, but a bit mild.

T: Very much the same. A bit jammy, little funky, but could use a bit more intensity.

F: Great to the style, enough carb and lighter, creamy.

O: It's a great beer, but looks a bit overhyped here. We had this next to a fresh bottle of Cantillon Rosé, and it wasn't as good as the Rosé, nor as good as any bottle of Framboos or LPF that I've had, although probably easier to get than those latter two. But just even compared to fresh Rosé, I'd go with Rosé any day.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle into a teku glass
A: Pours purple with a thick pink head. The head fades to a pink ring that remains. Some pieces of rasberry float to the bottom of the glass.
S: Rasberry, Rasberry, Rasberry with a hint of funk
T: tart juicy raspberry with a good shot of farmhouse funk hints of oak . as it warms there are touches of sweet peaches and plum.
MF: Tart crisp clean.
O: A tremendous beer. It made me sad that I don't have another bottle.

Fantastic brew. I was anticipating a good beer but this quite frankly, blew me away.

This American Wild rivals the handful of top-rated Belgian Lambics I've had.

Great color and appearance...a mildly dark,ruby-purple. Smells of raspberries upon more raspberries. Flavors galore, primarily raspberries and their blend with the farmy funk of a sour barnyard. Mouthfeel of a crisp but fluffy Raspberry Jam on a summer morning.

This beer was one of my top beers of 2015, along with Fox and the Grapes. Levi is brilliant in the science and sophistication of world class patient wild beers. First.. This beer wafted of rich and natural raspberries. You could even see a few flakes. The color was of communion liquid. The taste was nirvana. There was no doubt that the aging, liquid alchemy, and natural favors reigned supreme in this jewel. I am proud to have an upper Midwest availability to brilliant wild beer craftsmanship as this.

Punches you in the mouth with the perfect balance of tart, raspberries, and funk. Starts off tart/sour and then you get an intense raspberry flavor that lingers in your mouth. Picked up on a decent amount of funk and just a little bit of oak, everything blends together very well. One of the best awa's I've had.

I'll keep this short and sweet.

This beer is flat out amazing. I had no idea that lambics this good were being made stateside.

The color is gorgeous.
Smell is funky and jammy all at once.
Mouthfeel is clean and crisp.
Taste... Is what I hoped 14 'Boos was going to taste like, but better.

Congrats guys. I am a huge fan!

This one gushed, so be forewarned. 750ml bottle served in a teku glass.

Poured a medium ruby red body, plenty of white head that sticks around for a while, not too much lacing. Good retention. Smells of bright, jammy raspberries; very nice fruit-forward aroma. A bit of barnyard and wheat underlies the fruit. Make no mistake, this is an extremely fruit-forward nose. Flavour is not quite as fruity, but with plenty of complexity to it; raspberries, seed, jam altogether, wheat, a bit of hay, oak, moderate acetic sourness that is the right amount without being bracingly sour. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, lower on carbonation than I'd like; with lingering raspberry finish. A very beautiful smelling beer, even if it was a gusher. Each release continues to get better and I look forward to trying more beers from here.

Warning: this one was a gusher. Beautiful reddish purple color with tons of carbonation. Smell is raspberry and funk with the taste following suit. Feel is good but would've been better if the carbonation was a little more dialed in. Without having it side by side I'm not sure but I think I preferred this over framrood. Overall another awesome sour from FF.

Frampaars made me say "whoa" more than any other beer. Starting with the loud POP of the cork, to the fruity, funky aroma, to the bright color of the pour and finally the amazing flavors.

Pours a dark pink color with 2 fingers of fluffy white/light pink head

The aroma is amazing. Funk and sweet purple raspberries. It quickly filled the room.

Prickly mouthfeel to start, very nice carbonation.

Just the right amount of sour to blend perfectly with the fruitiness. Not overly sour, but enough to make a slight pucker and make my mouth water and want more.

Awesome wild ale.
