Our famous Russian Imperial Stout has a deliciously creamy mouthfeel and is loaded with notes of chocolate and roast. This one is meant to be savored.

Poured a black body with minimal khaki head and lace ring down the glass. Aroma comes across as something akin to Hershey syrup. Medium body, has its sticky notes but is mostly real smooth with well-hidden ABV. Beer has a chocolate chewy sweetness with roasted/dry finish and is a dangerous sipper thanks to how easy it drinks (seems like a dry milk stout more than a RIS).

Draught at Brewers Beer Bar, Magasinsgatan Göteborg.
Pitch black with a small head.
Not much of a nose! Molasses, caramel, brown sugar...
Taste: Licorice, sweet caramel malt, s hint of coffee. Molasses, alcohol and brown sugar.
Medium body. Almost no carbonation.
Strange... Not wat I expected from J. Wakefield!

True to form, style, technique and practice but cunning like Putin-- 9.5% ethanol, catches them sleeping.
I rated it high because it's big spicy flavors, like getting whipped in the mouth by miscellaneous species of tree branches, running through siberian woods, chased by a Grizzly, and you live to tell about it.

On draught at Yardhouse in Hallandale poured in a snifter. Beer arrived jet black with a half finger of mocha head that left thick creamy lacing. Aroma is burnt coffee, sweet chocolate, dark fruits, and booze. Taste follows the nose. Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth, velvety, and creamy. Overall an amazing RIS that I would definitely drink again. BA has this listed in the 9% ABV, but Yardhouse said it was 15%. Not sure which is accurate, but either way this is way better than the aggregate score BA gives it.

On-tap at Hops Hill, Brooklyn, NY
A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a thin tan colored head that died down, leaving lacing on the surface, a thin collar around the edge, and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of licorice and dark malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of dark malts and licorice along with notes of sweetness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The finish leaves your mouth a little dry.
O: This beer is quite sweet for a Russian Imperial Stout—it's more like an Imperial Milk Stout if there was such a style. The beer hides its alcohol very well.
Serving type: on-tap
