My favorite South Florida brewery. They do great IPA's and stouts with a good selection on tap. They also do collaborations with great brewers (last time I was there it was with Equilibrium) and generally have those collab brewers' beers available in cans. Gives locals access to beer that you would normally never see here. Outdoor area with pizza is comfortable.

Well I love star wars so I obviously loved the decorations! The bathrooms wallpapered by comic was amazing! Beer was solid to good, nothing blew me away though, and heavy on ipas even though it is January. Service was not great though, more focused on their phones and flirting with each other than the line of customers. Overall has potential but struck me as just another brewery with a hazy emphasis

If you happen to land in Wynwood when there's even a whiff of a local event, which this hipster neighborhood seems to host on a daily basis, you'll quickly realize you might want to avoid the area. Parking is terrible and there's a restaurant for every taste as far as the eye can see, so it gets tight in a hurry. And despite having to pass on by on our first attempt to visit on a Saturday afternoon when they had a line stretching out the door, the following Friday we found it to be a much more mellow, nerdy spot to pop a squat at than I'd have expected.

And not only that, I was surprised to see them offer such a wide variety of styles, and even some guest drafts. While not every beer knocked my socks off, some of their less hyped styles were pleasantly surprising. The vibe is of course set ablaze with aplomb by dozens of murals featuring modern comic and sci-fi references--this place has proudly served as one of the many touchpoints in bringing geek culture fully out into the mainstream. Even J. Wakefield himself was calmly sitting nearby drinking some Liquid Death and watching The Dark Knight.

While service is up at the bar only, on this perfectly sunny yet temperate day, they served me immediately and graciously. I thought this would be a one and done for me, but the next time I'm in Miami I'll make it a point to swing back through. Not only was it nice to have an extended session at JWB, but you can't help but get excited to walk the rest of the neighborhood and see where you land for a bite to eat.

Solid visit with COVID precautions in place. Great service from two servers and was able to get the table closest to the bar. Restroom was a bit dirty and didn’t have paper towels which was really the only negative. Nice selection of stouts and sours. Able to get the last full pour of DFPF 2020 before it blew. PreOrdered a couple bottles and bought a four pack to go as well. If you are a Star Wars, Marvel, or comic/sci fi fan, you’ll love the art and murals in the taproom. Highly recommended and will visit again if in town.

Visited with my wife on a recent trip to Miami, Florida.

Tried the following:
J. Wakefield Stush Berliner (sample)
J. Wakefield Bye Bye Bye (sample)
J. Wakefield 24th Street Brown Ale (can)
J. Wakefield The Magic Man & El Diablo (sample)

Beers ranged from good to phenomenal, my wife enjoyed her El Jefe Hefeweizen. Service was nothing to write home about (a bit too cool for school), but we didn’t really care. Awesome artwork inside the brewery, music was in our wheelhouse, beautiful patio outside. Our overall experience was excellent, and we would definitely come back.

This brewery/taproom is smack in the center of the popular Wynwood neighborhood.
Their beers are excellent. The place is currently on the "in" list and full on the weekends.
It's worth a visit for the great Star Wars and other murals on the walls alone. Despite the crowds, staff endevors to get a beer in your hand promptly

Was able to hit their (newly?) renovated location with the wife last week as part of a work trip. Wahoo! Super cool Star Wars/Comic Book nerd look and feel. Several stouts and a couple IPAs & Sours on tap. None of their best stuff was available for pour or takeaway but we enjoyed our time. Three of the 5 on tap were a touch sweet and fairly similar in taste which was a letdown. Wife; who has no idea and doesn't care about "hype" (I take her along with me) felt that stouts from her visits to Trillium/HF/Side Project/Perennial/Prairie were better (to her palate).

As someone who has been privileged enough to travel all over the US and try amazing beer....my two cents are that this SoFL spot is held in high esteem by being the only descent brewer South of Tampa and Colab'ing with superior brewers.

Vibe: I stopped by the brewery on an early Thursday afternoon. It wasn't crowded and there were about a half dozen people there. It wasn't an overly large place and had a couple of tables inside and outside and seating at the bar inside.

Quality: Beers were served in glassware at the proper temperatures.

Service: It wasn't crowded when I was there but they had two people working behind the bar

Selection: The place had about 15 beers available on-tap, most of which were from the brewery and three of which were from guest breweries (there were ones from Ology and Southern Prohibition when I visited). The were generally available in two serving sizes (i.e., 5 ounce snifters and larger 13- or 16-ounce glasses).

Food: This place isn't an eatery, but they did have about six types of Bolivian empanadas and a couple variety of flavored popcorn available for purchase as snacks.

Went for the first time ever for Wakefest weekend in Feb, 2019. Awesome atmosphere, wonderful beer, pretty quick service and decent selection. Would go back for sure just to see the cool STAR WARS murals in and outside the brewery.

Really enjoyed going to J Wakefield tonight. Bartenders were terrific – very knowledgeable about beers, and also gave me some recommendations from around the area. Music was good, beers were great.

Bartender was terrific - he knew I was really into craft beer and made some great recomendations of some other Miami bars which were fantastic.

Location of J Wakefield is great - right near Wynwood Walls and am amazing neighborhood. A must stop if you are in Miami.

I love wynwood and JWB has the best beer to offer. I've got for sporting events, nightcaps, and just to chill. Everyone should check this place out if they are in the area.
