Our fruity and juicy blonde ale will quickly transport your palate with a taste of paradise. Tropical flavors of pineapple, coconut, mango, peach and guava are balanced by smooth maltiness. One sip and you'll be singing the song of the islands. Aloha!

This beer pours a clear gold with a smallish head. The aroma leads with classic blonde ale notes of semi-sweet malts, with a lot of rich coconut, with a melange of tropical and berry fruit. The flavor is a bit more exuberant, with berry and guava notes upfront, followed by white fleshed tropical fruits, and coconut on the finish. The mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall a fun fruity little beer, really well realized, although maybe a tighter fruit focus would have helped some.

12 oz. can, canned on 06/20/2022 per the bottom of the can. An oldie from DESTIHL, added to BeerAdvocate all the way back in 2013. A new one to me, however, acquired a single can as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.
Poured to Duvel tulip glass.
A - Pours hazy yellow, the equivalent of what a Blonde ale would look like if it were New England style, with a finger of frothy white foam that leaves some pretty good strands of lace. Looks very nice.
S - Big pina colada on the nose: the coconut, pineapple, and guava are most apparent. Smells creamy with a touch of mango soda & fizz. The mango and peach do not jump out as much as the other ingredients, but I'm sure they are just blended in.
T- Very interesting & juicy flavor profile, very hard to detect much actual "beer" or blonde ale flavors. Tastes like a pina colada drink blended with fruit puree. It reminds me of a canned alcoholic Mexican guava nectar thing I once tried. Mango juice is more apparent in the taste. Also gives me vibes of pureed bananas / baby food, hints of apple.
M - Smooth, crisp, creamy, fairly light-bodied, and pretty easy-drinking stuff. It was the lowest abv beer I had in my fridge at the moment. Subtle hints of bready malts do emerge, as the finish turns dry and semi-bitter, making you crave another sip. Just the right amount of carbonation / prick for this beer, very well balanced stuff.
I'm surprised this beer doesn't have higher ratings, but I guess some people are turned off by the prominent flavors of coconut? I don't know. Either way, extremely layered and complex stuff here, nice job DESTIHL.

Straw yellow in color with lots of moderately sized sediment suspended within the body. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering half of the top. The aroma is faint. I smell some guava and peach, but not much else. I’m tasting pineapple, peach, guava, and mango. The mouth is light and refreshing. I think too many fruits are fighting for positioning here.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy, pale golden color with a moderate white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong buttery and fruity aromas upfront. Tons of butter. After that I get some papaya, guava, peach, and starfruit aromas. Some coconut and then a coconut butter finish. (3.75)
Flavor: Strong and intense buttery flavors upfront. Follows into a tropical fruity flavor of lemon, guava, papaya, peach, starfruit. And then a strong buttery (coconut?) and malty finish. (3.75)
Feel: Larger bodied and leans sweet. A lingering tropical fruit, coconut, and mostly buttery finish. (4.00)
Compared to Kona Big Wave Blonde 8/24/21: Pours a slightly lighter color. Stronger aromas. More butter and
Overall: Buttery is all I can say. A very interesting and unique beer for sure. Still has the tropical fruits of guava, papaya, peach, and sweet pineapple/mango. Yet the coconut butter is definitely here. Leans sweet. Sort of a variation of a pina colada I suppose. Probably not one I would seek out, but I enjoyed trying it once. Unique and sweet for sure. (Final Rating: 3.78)

12 oz can with a late January 2021 canning date stamped on the bottom.
Appearance. This has a slightly hazy, pale golden body with a good white head that has excellent retention.
Aroma. Attractive, fruity and juicy with touches of peaches, coconut, pineapple and misc tropical fruits.
Flavor. Contrary to what the aroma suggests this is mildly bitter rather than sweet. Nicely crafted to reveal most of all of the ingredients including coconut, peaches, pineapple, mango, grains and spicy hops.
Mouthfeel. Smooth, medium body with light carbonation.
Overall. Recommended.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left sticky rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of coconut, pineapple, mango and peach. Sweet tropical fruit taste with a strong coconut punch. Subtle bitterness and tangy kick.
