Style: Gose

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.00%

Availability: Rotating

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Leipzig-Style Gose undergoes a spontaneous fermentation, similar to Belgian-style Gueuze/Lambic beers, and exhibits a complexity of acidic flavor and aroma contributed by wild yeast lactic fermentation. Lemon, lime and other citrus-like qualities are present in aroma and on the palate, which is balanced by the spicy character of added coriander and a mineral-mouthfeel from added sea salt.

12oz can. 1/4/17 can date. Appearance: Clear deep golden with a moderate white foam head that dissipates quickly. No lacing
Aroma: Cider vinegar, acetic acid, and a touch of salinity.
Taste: Light bread you malt sweetness with a sharp, acidic lemon and lime flavor and tartness. Acidity is very high for the style with a minimal saltiness. No noticeable hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Light and highly carbonated
Finish: Saltiness shows up more on the finish and lingers long after, along with a lime, cactus flavor
Overall: Very nice gose. Acidity is very high, creating a puckering tartness, but has a nice lemon and lime flavor, with saltiness showing up on the swallow to balance the aggressive sour quality.

This beer ours a slightly hazy golden yellow color. The head is a half inch in height, and recedes quickly into sparse lacing. The aroma smells like mop bucket full of used water and lemon pine-sol. The taste is less grimey, but over the top salty, and sour. It is very unpleasant. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied with a watery texture, and very high carbonation. Overall, I like a good gose, but this beer is undrinkable.

On tap at Red Rabbit in Mpls. Lost head quite quickly. Golden and mostly clear. Nice tangy tart with quite a bit of citrus with lemon most notable but not excessive. Tingly and not too tart. Despite no head carbonation noted when drinking.
Lactic wasn't too strong and the wild yeast quality seemed a bit subdued to. However, overall an pleasing and non-intrusive drink.

I am not a typical beer drinker but I really love the source, tartness of the gose beers. This beer was a light wheat color. You could taste the citrus and salty flavors as well. Although it goes down pretty easy, it has got to be one of the most sour gose beers that I've had. But I really enjoyed it.
