Pours dark brown with a thin tan cap after a vigorous pour that disappeared immediately and leaves no lacing. The aroma Is dark roasted smoky malts. Flavor has a hint of chocolate and lactose that join the fore mentioned malt. Feel is thin. Overall just okay.

Dark brown with no light passing. Nearly no head and certainly no lace.

Dark cocoa with a touch of burnt malt. Light coffee.

Starts off like unsweetened cocoa but ends in a creamless/sugarless mocha. Smooth with a higher carbonation level. Short aftertaste of black patent malt.

The one thing exciting, to me, about Destihl's Moonjumper was the tiny bit of smokiness. Reminded me a little of a Rauchbier. Other than that, not a "Boycott Bland" beer; It is what it is. Pours nice and dark with 3/4" foam that disappears in under 5 min. No Lacing after that, so it is just a bit thin for "medium" as it describes on the can Pleasant nose but nothing impresses. Very smooth at first sip with a light smoke in the finish. Read a earlier review that mentioned sourness? Not in this can. Overall, nice but not a must-try, IMO. With more body, flavor, and smoke, this could be special---but then it wouldn't be under $10 a 6-pk.

Chocolatey brown pour forming into dark brown, head is sandy beige and 1/2 finger. Leaves hilly lace up the glass.

Aroma is the grain bill - roasted barley and chocolate malts, with faint hints of caramel and pale. Very grainy, slight lactose.

Flavor is again roasted malts, chocolate malts, sight caramel malt and pale malt. Lingering coffee and milk notes remain on the palate. Faint ash.

Feel is medium-thick, which it states on the can that it is. Very roasted finish. Grows kinda starchy on the palate.

Overall, I don't think the low ratings are deserved...rather, I think people were expecting this to be something that it's not. Read the can, anticipate the intentions of the beer. It's not supposed to be anything crazy, it's supposed to be "roasted and chocolate malts round out the sweet side, with a smooth mouthfeel and a creamy tan head". It hits all of those notes. It's fine. Nothing terrible, nothing exciting. It's your basic Illinois/Wisconsin area stout. Would I have again? Probably not, but you never know.

My DESTIHL Day CANtinues, but in a new, outerworldly direction as I make like 1960s Dick Tracy and head for the Moon. It is a CANQuest (tm) thing, so if you don't understand, then I enCANourage you to read Alice Schertle's poem, "Taradiddle" in her "How Now, Brown Cow" collection.

From the CAN: "Dark. Sweet. Silky."; "Fasten your space helmet because this stout will quickly have you orbiting the moon. Notes of roasted and chocolate malts round out our milk stout's sweet side, creating a well-balanced beer with a smooth mouthfeel and creamy tan head. One sip of this medium-bodied stout will have you jumping over the moon for another. Cheers!"; "Support Flavor/Boycott Bland (tm)".

I Crack!ed open the vent & when nothing untoward ocCANurred, I went with a slow, gentle Glug into the awaiting glass. An in-glass swirl raised just under two fingers of dense, frothy, foamy, deep-tan/light-brown head that resembled a chocolate milkshake until it slowly reduced to wisps. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing naught but cola highlights at the edges. Nose smelled strongly of chocolate and faintly of peanuts & I was put in mind of Tin Roof ice cream! My late Pops loved Rocky Road first & Tin Roof second. Mmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but just enough to call it medium. The taste was very chocolaty, more towards milk chocolate than bittersweet chocolate, but the CANsistant nuttiness made me think of a Mr. Goodbar, which is my favorite. Finish was semi-sweet, just edgy enough that I would not call it "sweet". I have been a fan of DESTIHL Brewery for a while, but when they CAN make a beer in a style that I usually find cloying & make it palatable, I know that I have found a winner!

12oz can, date stamped 12/04/17. Dark chocolate colored ale with a creamy tan head that dissipates to nothing rather quickly. Aromas of fresh roasted barley, dark chocolate, creamed dark roast coffee fill the nose. Cocoa, cream, roasted barley, coffee, faint tobacco, and earthy hop notes for flavor. Full & velvety smooth body, but it has lower carbonation, sweet yet well balanced finish. Overall, it needs some aspects cleaned up a bit, was was still enjoyable.

This beer claims it's dark sweet and silky and the only thing that's true is it's dark. it's a sour bitter beer with a long miserable finish and I don't think I would buy it again way too many sour bitter hops to fit the stout profile

On tap. Pours an oil black color with a small head that leaves no lacing. Nose of roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and ash. Medium body and medium-light carbonation.
There's enough bulk in the body to get the feel right, but it's missing sweetness. There's an ashiness/burntness to it that I've never had before in a milk stout. I had higher expectations for it.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 12/18/2017. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, cream, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, vanilla, smoke, char, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, cream, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of nuttiness, vanilla, smoke, char, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Mild herbal hop and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, cream, toasted dark bread, light smoke/dark fruit, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and zero cloying/acrid flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from hop/roast bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is good. On the thin side on body, but not too bad. Zero warming alcohol for 6.1%. Overall this is a very good milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt, lactose, and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Solid richness for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Taste like sour milk. Worst beer ever. It's more sour than a sour. If you like the idea of sour stouts then this beer is for you.

Pours dark brown with a heavy tan head, with heavy lacing. Smell is coffee, chocolate, and oatmeal. Taste is the same. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly watered down. Overall, not bad, but better milk stouts out there.
