Deadhead IPA Series: Touch Of HazeDeadhead IPA Series: Touch Of Haze
Notes: Our Deadhead IPA Series melds the strong vibe of our favorite music with the beer we love to drink, elevating both into a higher state of consciousness. Our Touch of Haze IPA resonates with big additions of Mosaic and Cascade hops harmonized with the smooth mouthfeel of flaked oats, for a mellow, juicy and hazy IPA that really strikes a chord. Cheers!

Nicely done. The addition of oats really added a nice creamier mouthfeel and taste balance. Canned date 9/20/19. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with some fluffy white head and nice thick rings of lingering lacing. Smells of nice ripe fruity hops - grapefruit, pineapple, orange, lemon, mango. Also some malt, vanilla, bread and weaker floral hops. A bit of dankness as the beer warmed. Taste follows the nose, good balance and hit of dank hoppiness as the beer warmed. Smooth, sticky, mild mouthfeel and good amount of carbonation. Very nicely done!

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/20/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a fantastic Hazy IPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish; nicely soft, and not overly aggressive. Fantastic Mosaic, Cascade profile. Extremely vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy hops; with a nice balancing wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Hazy yellow find with one finger head. Smells of pineapple, pine, and citrus, with some other tropical fruit. Smells like Mosaic and Cascade. The flavor has some earthiness as well. Full, smooth mouthfeel.

Rather pale haze with enormous off white head. Lacing often marking the take. A rather tart fruit aroma that moves towards citrus or a soured fruit. Pleasing. A blended presentation in taste with a smooth and soothing quality overall. A more prominent fruit quality with a backing of the aforementioned soured fruit. Finishes with a touch of the tart too. Nice malt foundation.
As this warms there is a more herbal quality, bringing in a more earthy quality all around. Feel is light moderate and presents with ample carbonation.
A good standard version. Solid and drinkable.
Of course I'm fond of the can.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on December 24, 2018. Brewed with flaked oats. Hopped with Mosaic and Cascade. Mellow, juicy and a little hazy.

From the can, it pours a hazy amber with a nice thick just off white head that slowly diminishes. Some lacing as you enjoy the beer. Definite citrus in the nose. Definite pineapple in the mouth - well balanced with the malt.

Had from can Nov 2018 (?)

Really interesting take, not in the mold of the juice bomb hazy ipa

tropical & citrus fruits dominate, hints of glue (?) and cheese rind make this unique. worth seeking out

Very good Hazy IPA with a very good ABV, nice touch of bitterness (57 IBU) without it being too overwhelming. Hazy color looks like pineapple juice. Deadhead fans will be happy.

Canned 10/28/18; drank 11/30/18 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange appearance.

A violent pour yielded a big white head; strong, frothy lace.

Pineapple juice, orange peel, dry grass & mild table sugar notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Pineapple juice & dry grass flavors up front; table sugar & mild orange peel notes on the finish.

A bit artificially sweet, but not awful. Not one I'll seek out again.

This one ours a cloudy golden orange with two fingers of white head.
Smells of ripe citrus and tropical fruits. No particular fruit stands out but it smells juicy and decent.
Taste follows with juicy ripe citrus, not bitter at all. Pineapple and pine notes also.
Medium bodied with good carb levels. Smooth feel.
Overall a pretty tasty DIPA that's better than average but doesn't really stand out. I would drink it again.

Pours a foggy golden color with a big white head that fades away quickly leaving a nicely laced glass. Aroma and taste is mostly grapefruit. The can says it has flaked oats, that probably contributes to the smooth creamy mouthfeel. Terrific beer, need to try more from Destihl!
