It pours an opaque yellow-ish color with a white head. The nose is clearly malt and hops. The malt sweetness is complex, lingering, and enjoyable. It's not overpowering, but hangs on for several seconds. The hops provides citrus aroma and just enough of a counter bitterness to balance out. This is a fantastic beer.

I had an earlier version of this a few years ago, from a 12 oz can and not including the dry hopping and what seems some additional hops this time around. This review will be about the current version - a gift from a colleague who happens to be from Normal. Fortuitous for me.
Quite light in color with a hazy hay hue. Smallish white and airy head that leaves in short order.
Very fruity aroma and that ends up showing in the taste as well. Not quite a fruit bomb but approaching one. Some soft bitterness wards off the excessive richness, but it still is fairly rich. Good feel for a regular IPA. Soft and full. Bitterness lingers esp as it warms.
Nicely done. I like this but not more than the recent Haze of the Dead.

This is another fine offering in the series. It’s somewhat amazing how this smooth, creamy, hoppy sweet beer melds it all together! Great beer!

Poured from a crowler into a pint glass. Extremely hazy and looks like a light colored orange juice. Taste is a citrus hop explosion. At 7% abv is hardly noticeable and I could have serveral of these in a session without feeling full. Surprisingly light in feel. Overall, Destihl, has knocked their whole Deadhead IPA series out of the park. If you can get your hands on any of them go ahead and treat yourself. Plus the can artwork is dope.

A - Opaque medium golden tan color with very dense, creamy, white lacing.

S - Pear, spice, mango, and citrus aroma.

T - Pear, light citrus, mango, stone fruit, and some earthy spice. Balanced throughout and ending with just the right amount of piney bitterness.

M - Thick and soft mouthfeel that's a little chewy.

O - The canning date is difficult to read but there is some degree of citrus acidity which leads me to believe this can might be getting a little "old". If I'm not mistaken, this was possibly released in February of this year?? I'd be willing to re-visit this review next year with a fresher can.

Pours banana flesh with a big, soapy head. Good lacing, little noticeable carbonation.
Don’t need to get very close to smell the wonderful, citrus hop. Upon closer observation, big hemp smell.
Taste of bitter, citrus hop, spicy pepper, pine and hemp oil, citrus fruits of mango, grapefruit, pineapple. Oats and malts done very well.
Good bite to this big mouthfeel. Resin sticks with you.
Good beer. A couple months old, probably much better fresh, still excellent.

I like the can artwork, great use of color. The pour is a hazy lemon color. The taste is guava puffs, grapefruit, & faint lemon. Furthermore, the beer leaves a nice lacing around the nucleated IPA glass. Cheers! B

What stands out the most with this hazy IPA is the foam a full two inch plus of froth atop a nice looking clear yellow beer. Great smell and taste at this point in my inebriation nothing bad to highlight expect the fact that I paid almost 5 bucks for this can real hard on the wallet since most pounders run me $3.50-4 bucks. Tasty regardless.

I was quite excited to see this CAN for The CANQuest (tm) on the shelf at The Beer & Beverage Shoppe during a recent visit. I have enjoyed the Grateful Dead since the first time that I heard their music & I went to see them play live on Harrisburg's City Island shortly before leaving for Boot Camp. I have recently begun assembling the 33 1/3 book series & #112 is a treatise on "Workingman's Dead" by Buzz Poole.

From the CAN: "Deadhead IPA Series: Extended Jam Hazy IPA"; "Brewed with Mosaic, Galena & El Dorado Hops"; "Support Flavor. Boycott Bland."; "55 IBU"; "Our Deadhead IPA Series melds the alluring vibe of our favorite music with unbounded takes on the hoppy beers we love to drink, unleashing a whole new groove. Our Extended Jam IPA features pilsen malt, flaked oats, wheat and an encore of Mosaic and El Dorado hops, awakening jammy aromas and flavors reminiscent of tropical & stone fruits. Cheers!"

I awakened the CAN & its CANtents by Crack!ing open the vent as I beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It foamed up nicely to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with modest retention, leaving nice lacing as it fell. Color was an oh-so-slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose smelled really fruity, a real mixed bag of fruit aromas with a pleasant bitterness that set my hophead mouth to watering. Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy, but on the approach. The taste opened with a blast of pine coolness, quickly followed by pineapple & then a wash of tropical fruit sweetness. Yum! On my seCANd sip, I let it roll around in my mouth & on my tongue to better experience its mélange of flavors. Doing so, I kind of lost its blossoming quality to just get an explosion of flavors that were harder to parse than on that first sip, although peach now became a part of the equation. Mymymy. Finish was pleasantly dry, not gasping or so bitter as to be off-putting for the non-hophead. This was my kinda jam! YMMV.

10th Review of this fruity punchbowl perfect my home-bound pint. Impressive.
a) Lace bomb over hazed lemony looking body.
s) Ample fruit in direction of pear, fruit cocktail, peach nectar. Hops back.
t) Fruit balanced by wine-like astringency making this great company for food or salty honey roast nuts.
f) Juicy fruity but always a good back tingle.
o) Complex, fresh, juicy. Leans more to melon, peach, pear than tropical. Bravo.

Peach, plum, apricot, nectarine and a little bit of pear. Very fruity and fragrant hazy IPA. Absolutely nothing to change on this to reach perfection.

Excellent mouth-feel, nice pure white lace. Perfectly murky, lemon meringue pie coloring. Just a totally perfect glass of happiness!

L: Drinking from the can.

S: Hoppy malts. Citrusy and tropical.

T: Fruity on the front and hoppy in the back. Interesting malt character unlike anything I've tasted.

F: Resiny finish. The hop's oil is a big indicator of quality to me, and this is far above average, (but not maxed out.)

O: There's plenty of sweet hazy action to counterbalance the hop's bitterness. It's mellow and approachable.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on June 28, 2019. Brewed with pilsen malt, flaked oats and wheat. Hopped with Mosaic and El Dorado. Tropical fruit notes with a hint of peach.
