Evel Knievel Imperial IPA is a daring West Coast-style brew that is ramped up with a thrilling burst of hoppiness, fruity aromas and perfectly balanced bitterness. Citra, Mosaic & Chinook hops from the American Northwest take centerstage, soaring through the flavor profile, while a vintage malt backdrop adds a touch of nostalgia.

Look: gold, creamy white head with good lacing
Smell: pine, grapefruit, dank, mango, spicy
Taste: pine, grapefruit, spice, resin, tangerine, mango
Feel: med body, lower carbo, dry, watery
Overall: 9% abv. The highlights: good bitterness, good scent, good flavors, dry spicy finish. The lowlights: I sprained my ankle jumping over a 40 ft pit, filled with rattlesnakes and two mountain lions, when I landed and fell off my Honda 305cc Scrambler. Never spilled a drop. And oh yeah, it's a bit watery. But the good outweighs the bad so overall it was a good beer to try. Enjoy this Daredevil paired with Am I Evil by Diamond Head.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of fluffy foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of orange, grapefruit, toffee and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney, sharp bitterness.

Really good beer. Made me want to go outside and fracture my skull.

Well despite the kinda gimmicky appearance of the can, the real Evel Knievel hasn't been jumping any canyons in rocket cars lately. So I decided to try it.
Turns out it's a quite solid IPA. Lots of hops, appropriate balance with malt base and enough residual long chain sugars to cover up the bitterness and alcohol perfectly.
I wasn't disappointed and eagerly drank the whole 4-pack in a couple days

Pours an effervescent & bright gold with a thumb+ of eggshell colored head. Great head retention & better lacing
S: Bready, hints of lemon, a little white grape. the only weak point on this beer, just a little muted
T: Cakey, lemon, pomelo & pine up front. Dryness, grapefruit, bready notes, a little grassy hop presence as this beer warms up, some cakey flavor as well, a little green melon & guava too. Finishes cakey with grapefruit, lemons, & a little pineyness
MF: Medium body to chewy with subdued carbonation, great balance
Drinks pretty easy for the style & ABV; most of their hoppy stuff is great when fresh

16 oz can mfgr 5/16/24 into a large snifter.
L: SRM 6 pours fairly hazed dark gold orange with a slightly off white thin head that recedes to edge foam, low carbonation, some thickness observed with some fine sediment in suspension, almost no lacing at all.
S: Citrus, hard candy, a pleasant and lightly sweet aroma.
T: Tangerine, orange candy, light confection sugar, distant melon rind that is not too bitter, it is gently and thoughtfully robust then has a drop off to a citrus zest and resinous linger.
F: Gently brisk then smooth and softly thick medium-heavy bodied mouthfeel with a medium-long moderately drying finish.
O: What an incredibly tasty American IPA. Luscious flavors, balanced, no alcohol burn, and very little aftertaste. A brilliant example that is excellent to outstanding in its style.

16oz can from Hops & Bottles. Foggy golden pour, foamy white head settles fast. Piney, hoppy aroma with some zesty citrus notes. Taste brings forth some caramel malts, but they quickly succumb to the bitter, piney hops. Classic old school hoppiness with some lingering bitterness.

Poured a dense, orange-gold body with decent head and lace ring down the glass. The aroma is grassy and floral with some mild malty sweetness as well. Medium body, a little juicy, has a tropical fruit sweetness as well. Crisp, herbal bitterness that reminds me of mango and pineapple and something like dragon fruit, the beer is filling and finishes dry and overall has a bitter sweetness to it that is enjoyable.
