On-tap at GI Belgian Beer Fest. Served in a pint-shaped taster glass.
A - A finger of white foam that settles to a thick collar and a few wisps of haze, but no lace. Mostly transparent dark orange body.
S - Pez, strawberries and raspberries, oak, light funk, hint of diaper, lactic acidity.
T - Taste is fairly similar, but it seems a touch over-oaked and slightly astringent in the finish. The fruits also seem to drop off a bit.
M - Medium-light body, pleasant active carbonation, and a tannic finish from both raspberries and then barrel.
D - Solid stuff. It's always nice to see a (semi-)local brewery producing quality sours. Easy to drink with only a few minor quibbles. Would have this one again, or even consider making a trip to Destihl to try more of their barrel-aged offerings.
