This West Coast/Rocky Mountain-style India Pale Ale is back-hopped for a more intense hop bitterness, flavor and aroma without the balance of caramel malts like our Midwest-style Baldock IPA. It has medium-high alcohol content, high fruity, floral and citrus-like American-varietal hop character, deep golden color and medium maltiness.

Lightly hazed, bright gold appearance with decent size white head and a fair amount of lacing. Subtle aroma of pine and citrus. Taste comes on a little stronger as the citrus asserts itself, the bitterness unfolds and the alcohol becomes more noticeable. Real nice, dry, lingering aftertaste as it finishes.

There are so many IPA's....so many are drinkable and respectable. This one fits in that category. From an aluminum can, it is a pale gold color. The head is soapy and brilliantly white. Soapy. The aroma is grassy, with some malt and grain. Full body. Semi-Sweet. It is a common style, and similar to many others, but wonderful when it is in you glass.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, medium golden color with a foamy, head that flattens. (3.75)

Aroma: Huge aromas of peach, pineapple, and passionfruit. Ripe and canned sweet peach. There is also rich, buttered popcorn flavor. Maybe some diacetyl. Fruity all the way through. (3.5)

Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with tons of pineapple, passionfruit, and peach. It's so ripe, almost to the point of being buttery. I think it's ripe fruit that gives the buttered popcorn flavor, and not the diacetyl. A slight toasty malt profile. I know they use Vienna malts in this, but it's not overwhelming. Finishes sweeter and not really any bitterness. (3.50)

Feel: Heavier bodied, sweeter and slightly syrupy. It's delicious, but yes, fruity and sweet. (3.50)

Overall: I"m not sure how this beer actually classifies as midwest. It's fully-hopped and fruity. Maybe the heavier body and sweetness make them think it's a midwest beer. But no, there are much more complex and balanced midwest in other midwest IPAs to define the style. You can't just add malts and sweetness and call it a midwest IPA. If you're going to call it a midwest, it better be backed-up. It's delicious, but lower rating because of that. I'd call this a fruity, heavier, and sweeter IPA. (Final Rating 3.47)

Canned 1-29-19
Light cloudiness, Not much on the nose.. light citrus, mild onion. Taste is the same as the nose, except no onion presence. Mild at best for the citrus but not bad. Thin MF, nice balance of bitterness and carbonation.
Overall, this is an okay beer, not sure if I'd have another go with it though.

Purchased off the single rack at Legacy.
LOOK: Pours a very light , pale somewhat cloudy, yellow with a full 2 finger snow white head that has great retention
and lacing, showing little, if any, settling. Appearance on this one is outstanding.
AROMA: Mangoes most noticeable as well as some back up of bread malts.
TASTE: Get an immediate mango flavor. Some spicy hops but biscuit and bread malts are most prominent.
FEEL and OVERALL: Mildly sour, earthy. I liked this one.
