Can direct from the brewery.

This was on tap when I visited, but as I saw a huge fridge loaded with the stuff, I figured I'd grab a 6 pack for the road instead. Typical IPA appearance, slightly hazy, golden, with a good white head. Decent bit of hops in the aroma, herbal, earthy. Taste didn't come off quite as good, with the maltier taste overpowering the herbal/bitter hops, and telling me that these cans were probably already close to being too far past their prime. Either that or it's just an IPA that's on the malty side. Basically what I'm trying to say is, there was no freshness date on the cans. Light-medium body, good carb level. An okay beer and an easy drinker, just not really what I'd call an exemplary IPA.

Copper color with a hazy complexion and a an inch of creamy tan head. The aroma is of floral to lightly piney hops and faint pineapple along with light malt. I'm tasting a light pine presence and plenty of light malt to round it out. The body is fairly light and quaffable for an IPA with just a hint of light stickiness.

DATE: August 11, 2017... OCCASION: expecting Jer and Matt for a golfing weekend, and planning to give them some Jersey brews... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... pours from a can a hazy, sallow yellow body, murky and opaque like the water the shark may have struck in... a thick, clumpy snow white head that leaves a skyline of clouds around the glass's rim... grapefruit, resin, lemon, tangerine, and a bit of booziness that hints at the 6.9% ABV... smooth, creamy, almost too easy in its movement through the throat--lacks the effect of any weight associated with an IPA, though, especially at its entrance and exit... almost syrupy in its sip, an appreciable lacing screens the whole glass as it is sipped... the flavor profile is more lemon than stone fruit, more melon than grapefruit--surprising, but not off-putting... secondary dough malts provide some balance, but this NJ beer seems a decidedly West Coast approximation.... light, crisp, and tipped with enough resin to approximate the style, though it lacks the robust profile that leads to higher ratings... an overall fair representation, but not one I would spend my money on when so many other quality IPAs are available--locally, even...

Home 5/10/15

Beer guy at store pushed me to try it saying it one of the up and comers in NJ. Saw the reviews and wasn't expecting much. Poured copper golden is a great head and equally great lacing.

The smell is hoppy citrus that is very pleasant. The taste is great. Smooth and mellow citrus fruitiness flowed by a bit of bitter that fades quick. Very enjoyable and I'm very impressed. I don't want to crown them anything with just one beer but I'll definitely be quick on the draw to crack the other 5.

Can to nonic pint glass, the appearance was a slight golden burnt yellow color with a finger’s worth of white foamy sliding head, not much lace. The aroma had some soupy sweet fruity hops playing with a gentle bitterness and then some light grassy hops. The flavor played with the balance of sweet to bitter off and on and back through each other never fully blending. Aftertaste was soupy fruity hops. Finish was the same. The palate was between light and medium on the body. Some sessionability. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt fine. Overall, decent at best, but the aroma and flavor doesn’t seem cohesive enough.

Poured from a 12oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is golden Amber with a thick frothy head.

Hops smell a little flat. It's a fairly fresh can but it smells a little stale.

Not a particularly outstanding taste. Straight bitter with no aroma or complexity.

Very basic IPA.

Great crisp mouthfeel, but the overall taste is too malty despite the fresh by date being in three months. The hops provide a nice citrusy bitterness but is overshadowed by a crackery malty character often apparent in beers past their prime, but this one appears to be fresh so not sure what to think.
