Going off old notes. Pours a rust color with super small off white head. Nose is pale malts, white grapes, slight honey. Tastes same as the nose, fairly sweet. Medium bodied, low carbo. A nice session beer

Malty bready aromas. Pours brilliant gold with a 1” dense, finely bubbled white foam cap. Rich malt flavors with some kettle caramelization and malt spice. Medium full body and medium carbonation.

Tis the season. Unfortunately missed Bockfest this year, so I grabbed a pack in honor.

A: Honeyed, light carbonation, inch thick white head that quickly dissipates after a couple of pulls to a thin film. Lacing is present but unchains quickly and looks oily.

S: Sweet; honey, caramel, clove, corriander.

T: Sweetness carries through overall; very low bitterness. Alcohol not readily apparent until it warms.

M: Moderate malty thickness and smooth, light fizzle, semi-slick; not heavy.

O: Drank this on an empty stomach and it was quite warming and not boozy. It was a bit more sweet than expected or remembered. The taste follows the nose to some extent. Head retention is less than I would have liked. The 2nd bottle seemed less sweet; my palate must have re-adjusted. These go down very easy. It's no wonder that they built a biergarten as a safe harbor. Solid Bock.

poured 12oz bottle into snifter.

A - Dark golden honey in color with an 1.5 finger off-white head. Retention is fair, no lacing.

S - Sweet malts, caramel, honey, sweet biscuit and corn muffin. There are also some light fruity aromas, maybe some orange peel.

T - Sweet malts, caramel, honey, sweet biscuit and corn muffin. Very light bready orange and fruit make an appearance later.

M - Medium bodied, smooth and sticky.

O - I have not had this in about 15 years, so it was interesting to revisit. A bit too sweet for me, but within the style of doppelbock.
