12 fl oz. can, with code on the bottom of the can reading 0234 SP. My second beer from Capital Brewery, and the first of their canned offerings that I'm trying.

Poured into a Duvel tulip glass.

A - It pours a coppery orange colored body with some very decent clarity to it. Three fingers of frothy khaki head, that leaves behind some nice fluffy lacing on the glass. Looks pretty nice.

S - The smell is fairly bland and one dimensional - grainy caramel malt, and a lightly herbal / grassy hop presence. Some dusty tea leaf aroma in there also, but the caramel malt is dominant.

T - Taste follows the nose - caramel / toffee malt, bread, tea leafs, and an indistinct herbal hop presence.

M - The feel is crisp and clean. Light-bodied with good carbonation, but somewhat on the thin side for the style. Semi-dry and bready finish.

Overall, a very average pale ale offering from Capital Brewery. Light in flavor and body, but it goes down nice and easy at 5.00% abv, and the price was right at $7.99 for a six pack.

Capital Brewery U.S. Pale Ale ---3/5.

Pours deep golden with a lasting thin white head that leaves lacing.

The smell is of citrus, pine and a touch of pepper.

The taste is of citrus with a touch of pine and some lemongrass. It is balanced, though leaning towards the hoppy side of the pale ale spectrum, especially in the beginning and the finish. A kiss of honey-like, towards caramel, sweetness is in the middle. It does have a bit of a metallic tinge to it that weaves in and out. It's distracting, but not enough to pull it down (much).

Refreshingly smooth, it is very "sessionable" and leaves a clean, minty freshness in the mouth.

Glad it comes in a 12-pack of cans at a very reasonable price!
