Has some real fruit elements to the nose, plum to cherry, some spice, malt is much further back. Pours brilliant red tinted amber under a dense, pure white finely bubbled, persistent 2” white foam cap. The palate is very malty with toffee to caramel, raisin, leather, plum, and a suspicion of port. It is chewy, smooth and creamy.

Agreed with other assessment - this is not the "dobblebock" I expected. Granted, when I asked for a taste if it (before buying a full snifter of it), I was td by the bartender that it is a habanero stout. That being said, this is a great beer.

Lots of chocolate and sweet, nutty, lightly roasted malt in the aroma. Flavor is roasty and chocolatey, with a kick of heat at the back of the throat. Was billed as a dopplebock, so the chilis were a surprise. Fairly spicy, but the malt character is very pleasant. I really wish I could try the base beer without the spice. It's a touch hot for my palate. And it's really not a dopplebock.
