Appearance - Medium amber. A slight haze. Medium tall off-white head. Quickly dissipates to a thin film.

Smell - Quite spicy - cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg. Sweet pumpkin. Goes beyond pumpkin pie to chai territory.

Taste - Begins sweet, rich, and pumpkin-y. Then a good dose of pumpkin pie spices. I almost want to check my mouth for spice residue. More forceful than most pumpkin beers I've tried - there's no doubt this is a pumpkin beer.

Mouthfeel - Medium. Smooth. Alcohol warmth?

Overall - Forceful, unabashed, pumpkin. Not something I'd have everyday, but this is a great choice for holiday drinking.

This is a really good beer that I would definitely drink again. There is a promenent pumpkin flavor and low hoppiness. The mouth feel is a little malty and fairly sweet. The color is a nice orange-brown, which you can see thru. Carbonation is weak and not much head. No yeast at the bottom.

fine lacing

S: pumpkin, malt, spices, cinnamon, brown sugar

T: pumpkin, graham malt crust, mild honey, spice finish

22 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint
7.5% ABV,

A - Ignoring the disturbing, all-to-quickly-illustrated label, this pumpkin looks delicious; clear dark amber in color, it pours with a light khaki head and little lace left behind.

S - Heavy pumpkin spice gives Pumpkinataur an immediate pie-like aroma; this could be a rich one. Cinnamon sticks and a dash of nutmeg open the pie aroma with mushy pumpkin and sweet caramel malt behind.

T - Sweet pie indeed, this heavily spiced pumpkin beer loads the cinnamon, nutmeg, and dash of clove onto the wedge of pumpkin puree with it's hefty, sweet crust of caramel malt and suggestions of toffee.

M - Despite the heavy aroma and flavor, this 7.5% ABV beer remains pretty drinkable. Clean maltiness and smooth body lend themselves well to the cause, finishing with lingering spice and a medium body.

O - Within the style of pumpkin beer, versions range greatly but Capital opts to go the route of straight pumpkin pie with Pumpkinataur. Heavy spice throughout overshadows actual pumpkin but the idea is there and comes together nicely above a clean malt base with caramel sweetness lingering for a cohesive fall beer!

I Purchased this bottle from my local Hy-Vee Grocery Store the day it was delivered. Poured into a pint glass at around 40F. This beer is sold as a bomber for $6.99 with a 7.5%ABV. I have tried nearly all pumpkin style beers on the market , as they are my favorite seasonal beer.

Apperance- Typical of most good pumpkin beers, a cloudy copper color as described on the bottle. with light head.

Smell- Delicious, I felt like the cinnamon, nutmeg and a raw vegetable like fresh pumpkin smell come through strong in the nose, exactly like a slice of pumpkin pie, including the whipped cream! Delish!

Taste- This beer tastes as close to a slice of pumpkin pie as I could possibly imagine that a beer could, I feel like im eating a slice of pie as much as im drinking a beer! Most other beers of this style don't even come close to the sweetness and robustness of flavor this one has. Leaves a nice pumpkin/cinnamon taste on the sides of the tongue.

Mouthfeel- Creamy , Buttery, smooth with very little hop bite and just a mild amount of carbonation.

Overall- No doubt this is one of my top two pumpkin beers , as far as authenticity to pumpkin pie, this takes the cake, I like to compare it to Southern Tiers Pumking in terms of sweetness but with its own distinct set of flavors like cinnamon and much less hops. great for those who want a big beer but don't like the bitterness that comes along with it. This is a must try for anyone who likes pumpkin beer.

A: Pours a clear brass/copper color with a nice off-white head.

S: Nose brings bright nutmeg, mild cinnamon, some allspice, and a bit of caramel maltiness.

T: Taste brings more even-handed spice - ginger, allspice, a bit of cinnamon, with a doughy malt backing.

M: Between light and medium-bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Very nice execution of the usual pumpkin-pie-spice beer. Certainly hits the spot when you're in the mood for one of those.
