A tough one to review. Ive had so much of this over the years. I have a hard time thinking about it.
A: Dark Amber body. Ultra thin white head. Large bubbles.
N: Bready, loads of sweet caramel, the Capital German je ne se qua, hints of orange.
T: Caramel and Toffee, a pinch of bitterness
MF: A touch sweetish, Big carbonation (biting in the bottle but not on tap or in a can), light and smooth body
D: As easy to drink as PBR (high)
Note: Considerably better canned or tapped than in a bottle.

draft pour into an allagash white chalice of all vessels. light amber with an off-white foam head of about two fingers. quite floral on the nose with some caramel malt aromas as well. taste mostly follows with a slightly watery finish. it’s nice though. easy drinking but also has that darker, amber flavor in there. darker in appearance yet approachable taste. full mouthfeel. kind of crisp but more lower carb and thick mouthfeel. good stuff.

Pours out of the bottle a crystal clear amber with 2 fingers of fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Smells slightly bready and malty with a carmel undertone. Tastes crisp and refreshing with all the aforementioned profiles. Carbonated very nicely to make it a perfect brew for whatever you're doing or whatever you're eating.

Hops mainly in the scent that is reluctant to leave the bottle, two fingers of cream-colored foam that takes a while to dissipate, and a transparent orange amber filling the glass. Even in the glass, the hops scent is muted. This has a sweeter note than I was expecting, but that doesn't show up until after the almost taste-free, ever-so-slightly metallic start on the tongue. Sweet rapidly gives way to a slightly more pronounced citrus which slides down the throat leaving some residual bitterness/astringency like slightly dry citrus zest. This is also very slightly viscous with a mouthfeel that seems to want to be round but the hops spoil that. Still, very smooth. It does have a bit more body than I was expecting, which isn't a bad thing.

For an amber ale it’s pretty light and refreshing, yet has just enough toasty malt flavor to satisfy.

Alot of roasted malts really takes away from the smooth overall flavor of this beer and the overall mouthfeel. Take away the roasted malts and think this is a pretty good amber.

Sampled in a taster glass from draft at The Vine on August 6, 2019. Rich amber lager that has a nice balance of roasted caramel malts and clean hops. Worth a try.

Very good amber. Had at a Woodchucks game 7/30/19. Very easy to drink and flavorful. You can tell they’ve refined this brew quite well into a mainstay I’m guessing. I’d order again.
