There are a few good reasons to like Capital. This O-fest could be one more. Amber. Roasted malts in the nose. Sweet in the taste. But fewer bubbles.

Not as described on lable nor by other reviewers here. Colour is very dark, had very high white frothy head, zero aroma & completely flavourless. Very fizzy & burning sensation on the tongue & throat.

Standard pint glass

A: A light caramel color. Small white head. Lots of bubbles streaming.

S: Very bready smell. Caramel tones behind it.

T: Caramel right up front. Finishes with bread and malt. Hops are present.

M: Very light-bodied, including for the style. Very wet. Carbonation notable.

O: An alright take on the style. I'm not complaining but am far from impressed. Very meh.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a deep amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of off white head which settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A toasty and bready malt forward aroma with a scent of biscuit, grains, and caramel. Upfront scent of toasted barley malt with hints of grains, biscuit, caramel, cracker, and yeast. Subtle hints of grassy hops. A decent malty aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a bready and toasty malt forward aroma with notes of biscuit, grains, and caramel. Bready malt notes of biscuit, grains, cracker, caramel, and yeast. Backing notes of grassy hops. A decent malt driven taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and smooth.

Overall: A decent take on an Oktoberfest. Solid biscuit malt flavor.

12oz bottle, Julian dated 2175
A - foamy ivory head dissipates fairly quickly atop a deep amber/copper body
S - earthy hops, a bit metallic, caramel, toffee
T - sweet caramel, toasty grain, spicy yeast, earthy leafy hops, toffee
M - medium body, moderate carbonation, finishes sweet but the dryness makes it easy to drink more
O - not my favorite Märzen, but it's ok. I wouldn't get it again.

12oz bottle, poured into a wide tulip. The aroma is earthy with malty notes of molasses, maple, and caramel, as well as a bit of bread dough. This turns toward apple pie / apple juice by the middle of the drink. It pours a brilliant dark honey / light caramel hue with a light effervescence and topped by a white, sudsy and foamy head that has moderate retention and a light runny lace. The taste is a medium, malty sweet with a medium light bitter spice. It's smooth and oily with a soft foamy carbonation and a medium light body that hits the palate with flavors of caramel, molasses, some spice, honey, and a bit of a vegetal / earthy hint. The finish is smooth with caramel, apple juice, and a bitter clove spice. The aftertaste is somewhat cloying with a syrupy character and a woody spice as well as apples.
