With a deep copper hue and rich malty flavor this renowned doppelbock warms like burning embers of a mid-autumn fire as the nights grow cooler. You may be tempted to share, but keep this Fire for yourself. It’s that good!

Pours a beautiful golden orange to brown. The head subsides completely, and the carbonation is light, with a nice mouthfeel. Smells an interesting sweet spice. Sweet, malty, balanced, a bit of the spice on the aftertaste. You feel the ABV, but not overly so. I love it.

Pour: reddish copper color with good dense khaki head.
Aroma: of toffee, dried dark fruit, brown sugar, light toasted note and a bit of alcohol.
Taste: Toffee, dried dark fruit like raisins and dates, brown sugar, and loads of syrupy malt. A bit of alcohol heat in the middle, but it's pleasant. Slight bitterness on the finish but the sweetness lingers with malt leading the charge.
Mouthfeel: Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; a bit "sticky" but the carbonation provides good balance.
Overall: Complex, robust, warming, and sweet, this is a great representation of the doppelbock style.

Pouring a transparent copper, this beer loses its small taupe head rather quickly. The smell is a faint caramel-apple cider. The taste right out of the bottle echoed the smell, but about half-way through I started picking up some citrus notes and astringency. The mouth feel was a little thick and slippery, but not unpleasantly so. Initially, I thought this was a great beer. While it is good, the fact that it changed/deteriorated the longer it sat (and we're talking 6-8 minutes) would make me hesitant to get a six-pack. Definitely worth a try, and I'll have to try another a little farther down the road.

Very solid and not alcohol forward. Short of outstanding only in that it might be too smooth.

12oz bottle into snifter. Deep copper color. Strong ice tea look. Tried to get a good head on pour but maybe a half inch that dissolves quickly. Toffee, fruit, malt, caramel on the nose. Malt taste up front with a muddled bunch of flavors. Was hoping for a BIG flavor of something. Like malty caramel or rich bock (this is billed as a doppelbock). Light carbonation. Very easy drinking because there is not much in your way.
Disappointed in this years version. Tasted watered down. I’ve had much better versions over the years. It’s good. But should and can be great.
