JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE!

The Legend of John Barleycorn is a metaphor for the life cycle of the much loved cereal grain barley. Tortured and killed again and again, only to be resurrected and consumed by the angry mobs responsible, John Barleycorn was a bold hero to many. “Then let us toast John Barleycorn, each man a glass in hand; and may his great posterity ne’er fail in old Scotland!”

Picked up at the coop. 22 ounce bomber.

Pours a deep ruby brown. Head is a light off white, quite generous with lots of lacing. Wonderful.

Flavors are complex. Initially there is light hop bitterness attenuated by alcohol. There is a pleasant nuttiness to it all. Ad it warms the toffee becomes more pronounced as well as fruitiness - flathead cherries?

Carbonation is surprisingly light feeling, which is quite appropriate for the brew.

Pretty awesome.
