If you like smooth, hoppy, and easy to drink beers this one is amazing. It’s 9.0% so it gets you to where you want to be, but doesn’t sacrifice taste or lightness. An awesome summer beer.

12oz can, no date, from the 'rare IPA' variety pack
I remember when almost no craft beer was canned, it was all bottles. Now everything I get is canned it seems. I actually liked bottles... Old man moment over, this beer is orange, clearish, smells rusty, tastes of lemon and pine. Surprisingly not that great of a smell with all the dry hopping. But the taste is truly outstanding: the best hop flavor so far in the pack, it translates so vegetal and juicy.. I could just bathe in it

Appearance: Pours a mostly clear, deeply bright amber/orange color with a heavy white head. SRM of 11. (4.00)
Aroma: Dense and sweet aromas of mango and more wet mango juice. Some orange cream too. (3.75)
Flavor: Flavor follows with more dense wet mango and more mango juice. It has a large amount of sweetness, but also surprisingly has a respectable amount of orange citrus bitterness present that comes through the middle/end. (3.50)
Feel: Heavier-bodied. Low carbonation. Drinks along the consistency of whiskey. (3.50)
Compared to Claw King 7/4/20: Pours a much darker amber color. Strong flavors/aromas of mango, juice, alcohol, and sweetness. Less crisp grapefruit and citrus. Overall, much heavier and thicker.
Overall: A very heavy and wet mango-drinking triple IPA. Heavy, juicy mango, and alcoholic. A surprising bitterness is present however. Ultimately, it's too heavy and sweet for my liking right now. (Final Rating: 3.59)

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of orange, pine and toasted caramel. Sweet citrus notes up front with a piney bitterness and toffee finish.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on November 11, 2018. Citrus and mango aromas finishing with a ton of grapefruit and tropical fruit in the flavor. With a light and balanced malt body, the hops shine through creating a bold, hoppy brew.

Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Strong pine and floral hops on the nose. The taste follows, with a bit of pineapple sweetness to temper the bitterness. Not a lot of malt backbone--it's extremely hop forward without being too abrasive. Not a lot of alcohol flavor, which is nice. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. Overall a solid, no-frills DIPA.

S: resiny hop aromas featuring citrus and tropical fruit and traces of fresh mowed grass and a hint of biscuit. The hop aromas are medium high and the malt aromas are medium low.
L: bright copper liquid topped with a 2" off-white blanket of foam that has good retention and provides good lace. Phantom
T: Taxi starts big and herbal with a citrus rind and tannin bitterness supported by light malt and an initial trace of sweetness. Hop flavors feature citrus and tropical fruit with a faint berry presence. Phantom Taxi dries out by the finish with a light touch of hop astringency and leads to a long lingering bitterness.
F: Medium body and carbonation.
O: excellent, hoppy beer.

16 oz. can that I’m told arrived at the end of February. Lack of a canning date guarantees this is one-and-done. Date your cans, people!
The pour is clear & gold, no hint of the Northeast here in the Midwest. Nose is citrus with an overwhelming blast of marshmallows. Either I’m having flashbacks to August 2016 or my mouth is broked.
Phantom Taxi - Cuba taxi or Manhattan, because the difference is about 60 years. The citrus is strong, but so is the dankness that mixes in about 50/50. Orange peel bitterness mixed with orange sugared sweetness. Bitterness builds to a pleasant crescendo: too many brewers have forgotten this aspect of the IPA, or turned it into a Bayer commerical. Easy to swig.
Insight for me has been sporadic - good here, great there, OK there, lousy here. This rotates along the axis of its bitterness, but I like it. They should have packaged this as their West Coast IPA. Good, solid IIPA.
