A fairly dark brown beer with a modest tan head. The nose continues the darkness with lightly toasted dark grain bread scents, accented with dark brown sugar and raisin. Taste is pretty spot on to the nose, with a little bit of an added minerality. After a few sips, pumpernickel flavors start to linger on my palate. Malt seems to drive things to the end, giving the beer a medium plus and smooth feel.

L-Chestnut brown color...good clarity
S-Fresh baked bread crusts.....lighter notes of cocoa and nuts..really a great aroma on this one.
T-Notes of fresh bread.....melanoidins galore. Other notes of toasted caramel, and cocoa..Really a nice flavor to this dunkel.
F-Super clean...and fortunately it does not have that artificial milk chocolate syrup flavor some dunkels in the U.S have...
O-Top quality dunkel. One of the best I've had.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe online shop (£2.79):
Chestnut brown & translucent with a 1cm, foamy head that's an off-white to very light tan colour & holds fairly decent. Caramel & a nutty base, not particularly sweet with roasted & slightly earthy malts round things off. Similar taste-wise some nice caramel & chocolate with a little more sweetness here, faintly nutty & well balanced, a solid dunkel.

12oz bottle. Poured out a clear, golden brown color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of coffee, chocolate, toffee and roasted malt. Nice roasted malt taste with hints of coffee, chocolate and caramel.

Clear, deep copper hue with a large tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of toasted malts, light caramel and a bit of chocolate. Earthy, malt dominated flavor yields slightly to some sweetness. Complexity of the malts continues to evolve. Creamy, moderately carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel that lingers.

Bottled 5/10/22; drank 9/30/22 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-clear brown/orange appearance.
An even pour yielded a nice khaki head; frothy, tree-rung lace.
Cream, autumn leaves & mild caramel notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Mild flavors of caramel, autumn leaves & cream; honestly, it tastes a bit artificial / syrup-y. Not one I'll return to.

Production Date (on bottle): 21091
Consumption Date: 15-May-022
Glass: German Fest Mug
Temp at Pour: 55.6 F
Look:
Chestnut-brown that turns into a deep and dark mahogany when held up to a light. 1-finger creamy beige head that quickly dissipates to a thin but consistent creamy cover.
Smell:
Toasted and very lightly roasted dark grains. Toasted pumpernickel bread. Buckwheat honey. Some raisin, plum, and chocolate notes. Very slight touch of dark (blackstrap?) molasses.
Taste:
Follows the nose very closely. There are an additional notes of toasted toffee and sweet biscuits. No discernable bitterness. The beer dries ever so slightly on the finish. Very nice.
Feel:
Very smooth and even creamy and soft. Body is on the lighter side of medium.
Overall:
A fantastic Munich Dunkel. Extremely easy to drink and yet flavorful. This just might be my new favorite Dunkel (nudging out Weltenburger's Barock Dunkel from that spot).
