Very Good
Notes: A light amber colored beer with a touch of rye. Mr. Toads is a malt forward beer with grassy flavors, a hint of spice and medium hops.

On-tap at Cold Water Brewery & Grill, South Lake Tahoe, CA

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar and specks of bubbles on the surface and clinging to the sides of the glass.
S: Light aromas of grassy hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste is a little maltier and has notes of spicy rye with hints of grassy hops. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an easy to drink rye beer as it isn't too spicy. The rye lends an interesting contrast to the grassy hops in the aroma.

Gave this one a 4 across the board. Imagine an English mild slightly over hopped with the additional beauty of rye. Definitely my favorite offering of the beers I had at Cold Water Brewery. Cheers!

Received small growler from a friend that was vacationing in Tahoe. Tag states this brew is 5% abv.

The first pour from this growler was completely flat, and extra disappointing given the base beer was quite tasty. However the second pour was, albeit mildly, carbonated, as was the third.

Amber orange brown, minimal lacing. Interesting color, around 70-80% opaque.

I smell sweet malt, and it smells good. I pick up amber malt notes that are probably related to the rye..?

Just really tasty. Sweet rye malt dominates with a dash of earthy hops and a sweet cracker malt finish.

This was undercarbonated, probably a tap problem more than anything... the feel is good, yet only average given the co2 deficiency. I'll go ahead and remove this from the rating as it's not a fault with the beer itself.

Good, overall. If anything I am impressed with the flavor.
