330 ml bottle, stamp on label says best before 29/08/20. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a brownish/burnt orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like caramel, cinnamon, ginger, clove, bready malt and cranberries. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also the addition of some tart apple/cranberry and honey flavors. Nice tart and sweet/spicy tasting brew! Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, although I wish I would have been able to try this fresher (bought it about a month or 2 ago). Worth picking up if you see any!

It pours a hazy, reddish brown body, with lots of visible floaties. Small off-white head with poor retention.

The aroma is rich and strong, with cinnamon, gingerbread, clove, tart and cranberries.

The taste is mild compared to the aroma, but its sour character makes up for it. It has cranberries, clove and cinnamon, with honey and herbal notes. The finish is dry. Medium bodied, sour and sweet.

A complex sour ale that closely resembles glögg. An excellent christmas beer.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a slightly murky brownish/red color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like funky cranberries, floral funk, floral sweetness, cinnamon, honey, clove, and funky lemons.

This works quite well - it feels like a funky and wild version of a mulled cider - even though it's made with cranberry, and not apple. The cinnamon is done well, and plays well against the sourness. Cinnamon can sometimes be overdone, and it's not overdone here. There's some light honey sweetness, and the cloves add a nice herbal character as well.

This is light bodied, with a soft and light mouthfeel, and a good level of drinkability.

I haven't had much outside of stouts from this brewery, so it's good to see they can get weird in many styles.

Pours an opaque, brown'ish, deep, dark red coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of tart cranberry with spicy accents of cinnamon and clove, with the cinnamon really standing out. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by tart cranberry and cinnamon, with hints of hibiscus, clove and a mild honey sweetness as well. Really not a lot of hops or malt coming through, except maybe some toasted spelt. Finishes with a medium sourness and cinnamon dusted cranberry lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

With so little hops and malt coming through here, this almost tastes like spiced, fermented cranberry juice, but in a good way, really. Perfect balance of fruity tartness, spicyness and light sweetness. Yet another really weird, experimental beer that Pohjala manages to nail perfectly.

Look: Pours cloudy dark amber and forms a half-finger, off-white head which rapidly fades to lacing. Noticeable particulates in the body when poured.

Smell: Fermented sourness and gingersnap cookie.

Taste: Initially tart cranberries with some ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon notes. Ends with a dry cranberry and hibiscus tartness.

Feel: Light and dry with medium carbonation. A very straightforward beer to sip.

Overall: An interesting brew from Pohjala which avoids the pitfalls of many over-sweet Christmas beers.

On tap at Brewskival 2018.

Pours an unclear orange-red-brown, with very little head.

Smell is spicy with a lot of cinnamon upfront, and some cranberries behind that. There's also an element of pastry.

Taste is mlder than the nose and more tart. The cnnamon and cranberries are joined by some floral notes and a hint of cloves.

Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.

This was a bit strange, it smelled like a christmas beer, but tasted way more tart. Very tasty either way.
